The rule of 6

not sure how it works so could some one help me? I know if you do the same work out 6 days in a row your body gets use to it so you need to change it up.
I do kickboxing three days a week, then for the rest of the 4 days I alternate different cardio work outs I fined, then at night I do ether elliptical or stationary bike every day. Is this effective or do I need to change it up more.
Granted my biggest problem is strength training not sure how many days I should dedicate to arms, legs, and back.
