Am I the only girl that gets a bit offended when people talk about how there are guys out there that like fat girls? I'm not talking about the guys that just prefer bigger women, I'm talking about the ones that *only* like you because you're big. The handful of guys that have liked me eventually told me that the reason they liked me was because I was a "big girl". Try as I might, I just can't get why people seem to think that I should see that as a compliment. :indifferent:

Because big girls need love too?0

That would piss me off. How rude.0

It's a fetish... a quite disturbing one in my personal opinion... but a fetish nonetheless... and yes, they do exist... From what I understand, they get off on enabling a woman to be morbidly obese.
It must be true.. I saw it on TLC.0 -
So you're complaining because they like you? It's semantics. You like someone because you like them...because there is physical attraction amongst other things. It's all about perspective.
They are idiots for telling you in a blunt way, if they had any sort of brain activity, they would disguise it by simply telling you that they are insanely attracted by your curves...and leave it at that.0 -
It wouldn't offend me. We all have certain things we are attracted to, whether it be muscles, or baldness, etc.0

I saw it too. The men are called Feeders. And the bigger and more immobile and dependent the woman becomes, the more turned on he is. It's quite interesting.0 -
I don't really see how it's different from men who only like a particular hair color, or eye color, or height, or fixate on one body part.0

You just respond with ...
"No kidding! I have a thing for tiny penises!"0 -

Yeah that's it... Though thinking about it, I don't know if that's what the OP was talking about... But it certianly isn't my cup of tea...0 -
I personally only like girls I am not attracted too...0
-
Not offended, it's a personal option. Like someone on here said, the same as a person who likes someone with a certain hair or eye color.
My fiancee does not like skinny women, he's always been with thicker girls and from what I know I'm the "biggest" one. He's not obsessed with it like as a fetish but just likes it.0 -
i understand that. it's not the greatest. Sorry it's happened to you.0
-
I don't care, so long as they leave me alone :P0

No I dont get offended becasue they like fat girls per se, but when they tell me I dont need to lose weight for their own personal reasons...when I am not trying yo lose weight for them in particular in the first place. That I do not like. If a guy only likes me cuz I am fat then that would be strange...my personality is just too remarkable for someone to only like me because I am fat LOL. But if that is the only reason a guy is interested in me I am sure I would find out very quickly and just cut ties with him. A guy can like fat women all he wants he can compliment me and I will say thank you...but if he wants me to stay this way...dueces becasue I am done being fat!0

Yes, this is MUCH better. :flowerforyou:0 -

You're offended that guys have that preference, you're offended by people talking about it, or you're offended by someone saying "don't worry there are guys who like fat girls"?0

that's horrifying...0 -
I get what you are saying though, and the point that most of the other commenters seem to be missing. You want a guy to like you for you, not JUST because you are big. I want a guy who likes me regardless of my weight for the person I am, not someone who has some preference towards big women and only likes me for that reason.0

Agreed. Can't say I would be offended. It seems like you're taking it as a put-down because it's a quality you don't appreciate. Just like if a guy said he was attracted to you because you are short, and you think short is a bad thing... You probably wouldn't appreciate that comment either.
Are these guys saying that's the ONLY reason they're attracted to you, or that's what INITIALLY attracted them to you?0 -

On the other hand...I think being attracted to the person you are in relationship is important. And men in general are very visual.
So if their cup of tea is heavy women go for it...
The feeders just sounds like enablers for drug addicts etc...dysfunctional.
But saying hey I like guys with green eyes....or they like girls with curly hair...or whatever..big boobs, long legs, very athletic, very slender.......its just what a person is attracted to...and going to climb in bed with...there is nothing wrong with liking what you see
Its not a put down...and it's not the ONLY reason why one person dates, falls in love, etc etc with another.
Just one component. The first one you see.

Well, lets put it this way. The second they found out I was trying to lose weight, they were gone, never to be seen again. No big loss or anything, just a bit annoying. I guess what irritates me the most is that I know people that have the attitude that I should just be thankful that I got attention from someone at all. I don't know, I guess I just get offended too easily.0

Yeah... and that. Seriously though, it's better they run away now before you are invested in your future together.0 -

That would offend me.
It would mean that the person never cared about ME but was satisfying a fetish. It's a betrayal.
BUT, you're better off without someone like that. I know that doesn't help the sting at the moment, but in the long run, you're better of without that person.0 -

Exactly. Everyone has multiple things they are attracted to - not a single "ONLY", and multiple deal breakers. Some are physical characteristics and some character-based. What he meant was that it's one of the top things they initially find physically attractive in you, and there are others.
People simply do not have a single-dimension attraction basis, in which case *every* person with that attribute is interchangeable. Everyone is more complex than that. Men, too, believe it or not.
If a woman man really likes tall men, and says "the reason I liked you is you're tall", it doesn't mean all tall men are equally attractive, it doesn't mean there's nothing else about him she likes, and it doesn't mean his entire worth is wrapped up in his height.0
