Merry Christmas gals! It's our last week before the New Year's challenge is up. Put down those holiday cookies after today and last chance workout it this week to reach our goals! Good luck to everyone this week!!

(heather, i figured as most of us weren't around much today, and I was online, i would start the thread).

    Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you enjoyed the holidays. I weighed in this morning but am not making it official - I was up 4 pounds but I bet most of it is water weight. I will wait to see what the scale says next week. I went 2 days of not logging and ate decadently :blushing: So, today I am getting back on track...

    I will check-in more later. I have to get ready for work :grumble:

    pinbot, boo for having to go to work! glad to hear you check in though! I haven't kept track of what I was eating either the past couple of days. Will get back on the train tomorrow when I fly home. I thought I was getting in earlier in the day tomorrow, but it's not till after 4, and I've got to go grocery shopping, and unpack, etc. So I probably won't get to the rec center until Monday.

    In addition to this week sucking in terms of food, lack of exercise, and accountability, I have slept like crap, AND have been sick. Blech!! Will be sad to leave my family. Will not be sad to get back on track with my eating/exercising routine.

    haven't lost anything in a month but thats ok. I've gotten through Thanksgiving, a cruise, Christmas and the complete fall out of my marriage and haven't gained an ounce

    and this is weighing myself at 10:45 at night...maybe it'll be better in the morning

    blombie - I want to weigh in on your scale. Staying even is excellent with all that you have been through the last month.

    akasullengal - hope you had a safe trip

    I am in a tizzy today. My laptop is acting up - but the computer expert (DH) claims to be able to get my info off of it. All of my work notes are on it. So for the next few days, I will be fighting hubby for the desktop :grumble: I need to go workout but am just hanging out fretting. Wish me luck today.

    Nice job Blombie on the weight loss. I like the Girl Power/Man Hater song idea - what are some of the titles? I have another friend who just decided to divorce her husband due to cheating - I would like to pass the titles on to her...

    My work data and family photos have been copied from the laptop - YEAH :bigsmile: So nothing will be lost. Who knows how long it will take to fix or replace the laptop. I did manage to do week 5 day 1 of C25K on treadmill. I am planning to get mom to join me in another workout later. I am determined to get back on track no that Christmas is over.

    Pinbot, sorry to hear about your laptop!

    Congrats to all who had a weight loss this past week. WOO!

    Today was my last day of vacation... done with the overeating and bad food choices. Going to work tomorrow is going to suck, but I'm pumped about getting back on track. Not so pumped about seeing what the scale says in the morning, as I haven't weighed myself since very early in the week. Ouch.

    Blombie, I don't have a lot man hater idea songs. I'll need to ponder that.... I probably have more "i don't need no stinkin' man" songs in my arsenal. Hmm...

    Made it back to MI safe and sound. Not so fun to go from a 50+ degree weather day to snow. Boo.

    Let's kick it into high gear this week for the last week until our goal! Any thoughts on the next one? If we stick with around the 6 week goal, Valentine's Day is right about then... though I don't know if anyone actually wants that holiday associated with a target weight goal (I shall be alone wallowing, per usual). Definitely up for suggestions!

    eta: holy new homepage! facebook much? interesting.... I like that since I've friended you, I see updates though!

    So I weighted myself this morning... 216.4- up 3 from what I weighed on Monday. YIKES... though not shocking. I know some is water retention, so I'm going to pound the water today and see if it helps. I still feel like crap, but am going into work. I might leave early though if I continue to feel like I do now. I had plans to go to the rec center, but if I'm hacking and stuffy, I might need to bypass, which pisses me off. As long as I'm semi-ok, I might do a half workout and at least get something in. I'll feel better about myself.

    Sat morning, I was up 4 pound but today it is down to being up 2 pounds. I hope the rest is water weight and comes off in the next few days but if not, 2 pounds isn't the end of the world - considering what I ate and drank :blushing: The laptop is still not working :grumble: I am using DH computer and have been threatened with death if I change his desktop.

    I just read an article in Fitness magazine that says foods high in Potassium help counter act bloating - I plan to buy some bananas and give it a try today.

    *Kaci Battagalia (not sure on the spelling of her last name)- "Crazy Possessive" (this is kind of a "touch my man again" song, but I love the beat and it makes me want to beat Joey's wh***s...definitely a good song to work out too cause then it gets me going even harder)
    *forgot the band name but it starts with a B -"Karma is a Female Dog" (country song thats really good)
    *Static X- "He's a Loser" (can't understand any words in this song other than when the guy screams "he's a looo-SSSEERR" repeatedly, but thats why I like it. Its a hard rock song)

    good job to everyone this week! i think even if we did lose or gain, we all tried our best through the holiday.

    I don't like the new look of the homepage, but i don't really care either...you know?

    I like the idea of V-day for our next goal. Or just whatever six weeks from last friday is. doesn't necessarily have to be a holiday, I am just here for the support!!

    Good morning everyone - today should be great. I get to stay home all day to exercise and catch up on work. Another pound came off so I am only 1 pound over my pre-Christmas weight. It must be water weight. I should be back to normal in the next few days. I too like having Valentines Day for our next goal. If only so I can remember the date. That could set us up for St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc. Or we could just go with the last Friday of the month...

    I plan to do at least 2 workouts a day during this last chance week. A friend on another group called her workout "slow robics" and I love it because it is what I do most often. I figure any moving is better than no moving and I used to love to do the robot dance (am I aging myself?)... Have a great day everyone.

    Blombie- good luck with the exercise today!

    I'm finding that if I weigh myself a bit later in the day, the pounds are less. For instance, this morning, I weighed myself when I got up and was 216.8 (ugh). I'm still feeling like crap, so I decided to take the day off. Crawled back into bed, and weighed myself again at 1pm, and i was 215. Go figure! I like that number better, hehe.

    As I'm still sick, I didn't go to the rec center yesterday and am unlikely to today. I'd like to do something at home today, but I'm not sure if it'll happen. I certainly will keep the eating in check though. I'm bummed that I'm sick this last week of the current challenge, cause I can't kick it into high gear like I would normally do.

    Anyone know what happened to Heater? Is she still around, or are we manning this group ourselves?lol Probably a busy time I'd imagine. just seems like our group has turned into the four of us. We'll see after the new year.
    does anyone want to take over posting the new topic each thursday? i know a few people have traded off, but maybe we should make something official???? just a thought!
    anyhow, I got a new ipod nano for christmas, and using it I was able to run straight for 30 minutes (2 miles) yesterday!!!!! Woot Woot!! I think the newly dropped couple of pounds and music helped me!
    haven't worked out today yet though, but im not going to beat myself up over it. it happens.

    I bet you're right though... it is a crazy time of the year. I hope peeps are just out of it cause it's winter vacation time and they haven't stopped all together.

    cds, yay for a new nano! that's always a fab gift. I have an ipod, but i use my little shuffle for when I work out (which i plan to finally do this week after work today... finally feel better). Congrats for the 2 miles! I don' t know if i'd be able to do that!

    Today, I went out to lunch with my coworkers, had a veggie sandwich and fries. The fries I feel bad about... especially with goal weight on Friday. Oh well! Will hopefully work it all off this afternoon. This might be my last week at the hospital before starting up at a health clinic in town, so it was sort of a goodbye-ish lunch. Everything's a bit up in the air though, and i'm a bit stressed about the prospect of not knowing what the hell I'm doing. As long as I don't turn to food in the time of stress, that will be a big step for me! Btw, I'm down close to another pound this morning. I think a lot of my weight was water weight, so it's coming off somewhat quickly. Definitely won't reach my New Year's goal though. Bummer.

    As for starting the threads on Thursdays, I don't have a problem doing it if no one else wants to. I usually have to get up pretty early for work on Fridays in general, so I can start the new thread when I get up Friday mornings. As I'm off on Friday, I would probably start the new thread before crashing for the night. Let me know what y'all think.

    I second the nomination for akasullengal. Thanks for offering and I'm glad your feeling better.

    cd - 2 miles is rockin'. I will get there someday. Friday I try a 20 min run (week 5 day 3 of C25K) - I'm a tad nervous. You guys can laugh because Wed I had my ipod and my iphone playing during my run. The C25K music and walk run cues were on the iphone but I do better loosing myself in a book - so I had The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown playing to distract me...

    I have to get ready to exercise with mom and then we are all going out to dinner - I have been craving the grilled chicken salad with strawberries, walnuts and blue cheese at our local bar...

    Pinbot, that salad sounds pretty fabulous!

    I just got back from the rec center. it was a bit painful doing the 65 min on the elliptical (my norm)... I did it on one level lower than I had been, but with not working out in almost 2 weeks and still getting over a cold, I babied myself a bit. But I'm so happy I did it. Feeling much better about myself.

    Eating tonight should be good and pretty low cal. I have no plans (shocker) for new year's eve at this point, so I imagine my lead up to weigh-in on Friday should be all right. Unfortunately the rec center closed early tomorrow for the holiday, so I won't be abe to go after work. I'm going to attempt a 30 day shred video after work or will go to my complex's exercise room and try to get some cardio in.

    Good luck gals! At this point, I'll plan on starting the new thread late tomorrow (thurs) evening. Everyone get ready with your weigh-ins (and measurements if you did them/want to do them this round)!

    I will not be weighing in on Friday. I will weigh in tomorrow. My friends are taking me out to a comedy club tomorrow night for New Years Eve. This is the first time I will ever go out for NYE and after the past 2.5 weeks I've had, I plan to get SLOPPY DRUNK. Really excited about it. This morning I weighed 242.4. Yay for going down a little more! Hopefully it'll stay the same for tomorrow.

    Pinbot- your evening sounds pretty fantastic as well. I'm such a trivia buff (as shown by my frequent pub trivia appearances). Fun time!

    No plans for me for this evening. As I'm still not at 100%, I plan on getting to bed early. Will still try and work out this evening at my apt complex, as the rec center will be closed. When I was at the rec center yesterday, there were weight loss commercials like whoa on the tv. I hate this time of year because of that. Very annoying... we're all already on the right track... don't need no stinkin' new year's resolutions!

    I was able to get a "leave early" okay from the boss at work today so I was able to make it to the rec center before it closed. It felt SO much more painful today than yesterday. Note to self: do not go 2 weeks without working out. It's brutal when you return. Still slugged through the 65 minutes...
