I have the "professional" one-- it has the big pitcher w/ 6 blades and the little food processor w/ 4 blades. I like it. It's not the most high-powered blender out there (i.e. Vitamix), but it does the job better than $20 blenders.

I haven't used it to crush ice, but it can handle frozen fruit pretty easily. I've read others saying that it does well with ice, so you probably won't have any trouble as long as you don't run the motor too long and burn it out.

I use it mostly for smoothies, and it works like a dream. The only thing is that food particles will sometimes get stuck on the blades, but with a little persistence you can get it off. It is a bit loud, but putting a cloth underneath the blender helps with that.

All in all, I thought it was worth the money. Maybe someday I'll get a Vitamix or BlendTec, but for now, I'll stick with my Ninja.
