Okay so I have been losing weight and getting into health and fitness for 2 years now, I joined the gym about 6 weeks ago and go 3-5 times a week, I do high impact circuit training/bootcamp and boxercise classes, I have also added strength training, I lift quite heavy and workout on the weight machines 2-3 times a week for and hour and I walk everywhere
my question(s) is,
am I doing enough? I want to be superfit and have muscle definition
I don't care what it is I have to do in order to get it, but I don't want to injure myself
and what is it that you do?
how many calories do you eat? I eat clean so don't need advice on that just calories
I am working very hard and eating clean and although my muscles look better I AM NOT LOSING WEIGHT!!!! OR INCHES GRRRRRRRRRRRR
anyway thanks for your input in advance

It's all diet. To lean out and retain some muscle mass you could probably get great results with a full body workout twice per week only. I work out 4-5 times per week not because it's absolutely necessary but because I like to.
I eat 2700 cals to maintain, about 2250 cut and 3000+ to bulk, but then I am not you so you need to work out your calorie requirements for yourself.
Work out yor BMR and TDEE
You said yourself you look better so I wouldn't not worry about the scale weight too much.0 -
Two tips:
One-Ditch the weight machines and go with free weights. Weight machines force you into weird positions and take out all stabilizer muscles..
Two- Watch your exercise calories. I saw that you put down burning 993 calories... for someone who only has 7 pounds to lose, thats a huge burn.0 -
sorry guys feel a bit silly for posting this I have been getting a bit emotional, stupidly so about these last punds not coming off when my main reason for this journey is to get fit, thanks for the advice. I don't eat my whole exercise cals and wouldn't go above 2000, but maybe I need to as I intend on training even harder in preparation for an event next may I want to be involved in called the 'tough mudder' so things should all come together at some point anyway. am rubbish at logging, need to get a hang of that yet...thanks for the advice and have given myself a mental slap.....0

Yep, in your original post you make no mention of diet. Make sure you are getting enough cals and enough protein. General rule of thumb is:
minimum of 1g of protein per lb of lean body mass
minimum of .3g of fat per lb of total body weight.
So, if you are 120lbs @ 20% BF (no idea what your numbers are... this is just an example), you'd want a minimum of 96g of protein and a minimum of 36g of fat daily. Again, those are minimums, so going over isn't a bad thing.0
