combining mfp with other diet plans?

Back again to try and shift my excess 20lbs but this time I'm trying a combinatiion of Rosemary Conley GI Jean plan for meal choices and ideas whilst using MFP as a calorie recorder. Been doing it for 4 days now and it seems to be working in that I've not gone over my 1300 cal daily allowance but I wondered if anyone else has followed this principle and if so, with what success?
