Are goal counterproductive

I'm about 20 lbs away from my end weight goal and I wonder, is it counterproductive to have a definite goal? Let's say I lose the 20 lbs, then what? I don't mean we should just keep losing more and more weight, but doesn't your brain take a break once you reach then goal. Isn't there a mental "shew, I'm done"? How do you avoid the creep back up?

I think its important to have short term and long term goals which you revisit and update as you make progress. Not sure if you can read my blogs but I listed some of my goals. I also think its important to have then written out, makes you more accountable.
