365 Days Later

Just wanted to share my life change thanks to MFP. One year ago today I stumbled across the MFP app and my journey began. I set out to lose 20 pounds thinking in the back of my mind that I was once again setting myself up for failure. Well 365 days later I am still here (well 75% of me!) and I can't believe the new and improved me. Many people ask how I lost 35 pounds but quickly become un-interested when I tell them that I did it the old fashiond way of eating less calories then I burned each and every day for six months. Sorry, there is not quick fix. I did not eliminate any food groups, rely on special shakes or pills, just ate normal food (and still enjoyed my glass of wine most nights) at or below 1200 NET calories a day for six months. I have always exercised a little and played tennis a couple of times a week but now exercise is a part of my daily routine. In the last year I have walked over 351 miles, run over 378 miles, spent countless hours in the gym doing cardio and yes even strength training (my least favorite!). I have been maintaining my weight for six months and that is a first for me. I am still logging daily and still feel I need the accountability that MFP gives me. Best of luck to all of you.
