net calories?

Okay i'm super confused about the net calories and whether im eating enough calories etc, i'm opening my diary for you all to see, please help i feel like im putting weight on instead of losing it

    Calories are what you put in. You've set a goal for yourself on what you should take in.

    When you exercise, you use calories above and beyond your basic activities. You need to eat enough extra calories to support these activities.

    The calories you put in (what you eat) minus the calories you burn for exercise are your net calories. Those are the calories your body can use to fuel normal activities.

    When you evaluate whether you're achieving your calorie goals, look at your net calories.

    Your net calories should be as close as possible to your original calorie goal. If your daily goal is 1490, your net calories should be close to 1490.

    Just make sure your not drastically overestimating your calories burned.

    With your posted height and weight you are at the low end of the normal BMI range and don't really need to lose weight. If you are unhappy with your shape it would be be better to work on gaining strength and build some muscle which will help change your measurements. Take a look at the pix on this link and you will see that the number on the scale is not as important as the amount of muscle you have and what your body fat % is.
