TDEE Calculations-Am I doing this right?

I am 24 years old. Weigh 233 lbs right now and am 5'7". I exercise 3-5 times a week.
The calculator states my TDEE is 2891. So, to lose 1.5 lbs a week I need to eat 750 calories LESS than my TDEE.
I've been eating around 1400 cals a day. I should be okay, right? I know it's a ridiculous question seeing how I'm pretty sure I just calculated it correctly. I just need reassurance!

If your tdee is 2891 and you wanted to lose 1.5 then you would eat 2141 and fill it with real food. 1400 would not be enough food.0

I'm so confused now.
I changed my goals to lose 2 pounds a week. And since I lost my first 20 lbs, myfitnesspal changed my daily calorie intake as 1280! That's not really enough for me. I was struggling with 1400 a day. What should I do ? I know 1280 isn't enough!0 -
Change your activity level to lightly active or sedentary and then eat back half of your exercise cals. Make sure everything you put in is correct and try sticking with 1 lb a week. 2 lbs a week isn't really healthy anyway. Every 5 lbs you lose you should recalculate, because as you lose weight your body will need less and less food.0

Fitness Frog has a calculator on its site to do all the math for you...you should eat about 15-20% less than your TDEE...good luck!0

What is your BMR?0 -

Read this thread and do the calculations as shown - this will find your BMR which you should not eat below and also show you how to find your TDEE and what you calories will be with a 20% cut. 20% below TDEE is a good target for safe consistent weight loss. If you go too low you will be starving and miserable and may not want to continue. A 20% decrease from TDEE is a more sustainable calorie goal. If yo are obese 30% cut is doable until you get to overweight. If you are within 10-20 lbs of your goal then a 10-15% cut from TDEE is more appropriate. You want to end up with a calorie goal that you can maintain for the long term.
PM me if you have trouble crunching the numbers and I will help.0 -
