My change is NOW

Hello! I'm new to MFP, but not to weight loss in general.
I've been telling myself for months now that I should/need to lose weight. As the number on my scale continued to rise, so did my denial. I thought, "well, as long as I don't hit 170 like I did 5 years ago, I'll be fine!" My smack in the face came almost a week ago, when I couldn't button my favorite pair of jeans I bought only last year, with the scale at 168. I had been trying to lose weight slowly, by calorie counting and running a few times a week, but would binge on the weekends and reset, or worse, even reverse any progress I would make.
So I bought a Jillian Micheals dvd (Ripped in 30), recruited my roommate who has been bemoaning her weight as well, and started Sunday.
I am on the path to a new, better me. Not just skinnier, but healthier, happier, and more in-the-moment. Transformation is a process (as Jillian says) and, like a process, it's happening now. Not tomorrow, not next week, not after I do this or take care of that, NOW.
And so it's on

Great attitude! Good luck. Just keep in mind what you want to look like and don't give in or up. I know you can do this!0

Thank you!!!!
Yeah, I learned that negativity (I'm fat/I look gross/ not up to standards with other girls) isn't necessarily the right motivation, so I'm going with positive this timeAnd sexyness (hopefully) will just be a byproduct
Also, I think it'll be easier to make a lifestyle change if my motivation is positive
Also, good luck in your endeavors!0
