Overeaten...now what? Exercise tomorrow or Fasting?

I didnt realise how many calories (silly billy me should have put in the numbers before I ordered!) was in the stuff at TGIFridays .
Had the full ribs and fries/chips. But I did plan to splurge which I dont do often but am visiting friends in London so allowing myself a bit of a cheat time.
I ate like frigging 3111 calories! Before dinner I had accumulated about 800 calories. I thought maybe I would be over about 500-700 calories...but not like almost 2000 calories.
I wonder...should I struggle to work out tomorrow with all these carbs in my body (am doing low carb/Paleo) or should I do a day of fasting??
What do you think?

To be honest? Nothing. Be happy you can wake up tomorrow and do the right thing tomorrow. Fasting or overexercising would be worse than just letting it go...0

Carry on as you normally would. If you usually exercise, then try and get some in as it might make you feel a bit better and help in dealing with some of those carbs. I am in a similar boat...massively overate the last couple days while visiting my mum in London, lol. I did a workout when I got home and know from experience I should be back on track within a few days, hopefully. You are unlikely to gain any real weight as long as you get back on track and go back to your normal routine, maybe cutting a hundred calories here and there, or doing an extra workout at some point.0

I think I will carry on as normal. I do my jog on Mon, Wed and Sat...so will wait until Saturday to get in a good session.
Tomorrow I only planned some walking since I had a nice jog yesterday.
Ah well...it is certainly an experience and I will see how it affects my body.
I will view it as an "experiment" as to the affects of one day seriously overeating on weight loss LolCarry on as you normally would. To put in perspective, I had a cheat day when I went to an amusement park this weekend. And all the water weight is off and I'm now at my lowest weight. One day, one meal, won't kill you....just get back onto your normal routine and you'll be fine.0

Just chill. A lot of people intentionally eat whatever they want one day a week/month/predetermined period of time just so they don't go crazy, and it doesn't throw off their weight loss.0

I feel guilty and then eat a lot of seafood and salad... And drink green tea or prune juice.. Detox a little, do a light workout.. But thats just me0

Consensus seems to be "trying to move on".
Since I havent cheated in 2months since I really actively committed myself to my weightloss, I dont feel bad.
I will do as much little things as possible like drinking loads of liquids.....green tea a great idea....making sure I eat healthy today.0 -

I would carry on as normal. I am a big fan of both exercising and fasting, but they are not the proper response to eating too much. If you go to a restaurant and eat over your calories, it's not really a big deal, as long as it's not an everyday thing.
Oh, and about your comment, "Should i struggle to exercise with all these carbs in my body?" you might find it EASIER to exercise after eating carbs.0 -
Definitely don't fast, and overexercising won't matter as much the day after. Drink LOTS of water, because any weight or measurement change will most likely be sodium related/water retention instead of actual fat gain.
Also take is as a ~lesson~: Instead of estimating calories, try actually looking them up beforehand! Then you can add an EXTRA workout the actual day you're eating that stuff (instead of the day after) to allow yourself more calories. Plus, you can eat that stuff--but portion it out! Ask for a box and eat half the next day. It saves calories on both days if you continue to exercise fully, plus prolongs the taste0 -

I say do a long run (as you've mentioned you go running) because you'll have lots of fuel in your body with the carbs. If I have lots of carbs on an evening, the next morning I usually do really really well at my running - like I could go on forever and it feels good.0

^^ This. Just start your day right. Lots of water and veggies and get back on track. Do exercise, exercise is always good, but don't push yourself to burn off 2000 calories. Just do what you always do.0 -
Like everyone else said, it's only one day. Let it go. No one ever magically became fat in just one day. However if it becomes a habit...
I usually allow myself one really 'bad' day a month. Yes, the food is yummy, but then I feel like absolute rubbish the next day, so I learn my lesson for another month or so.
Just get back to your routine, and make sure you drink lots of water, and you'll be fine.0 -

If it became a pattern and you started gaining weight- that's one thing. But, if you return to your normal routine after a day like that without problem then I would let it go.0

This is why I never go to restaurants unprepared... I always look online at the choices first, and if I want something that is way over, I ask for a takeout container and immediately half my portion before I even start eating because I know its gonna taste SO GOOD that I wont be able to stop if its on my plate
But for today, you need to write it off, work out hard and file this under " a lesson learned".

But I so hate the SHOCK of finding out how bad I used to eat.
I remember last year during Christmas being in Manchester and there was an offer on Eggnog Latte. Buy one get one Free.
I bought one and got one free and drank half of both as the top part seemed delicious. Then I read like each latter has more calories than like 3 cheeseburgers from McDonalds!
I stopped ordering anything but coffee at Starbucks again.
Such a waste of calories....I prefer to chew my calories and enjoy the experience!
But I am back on track today. It is about 3:30pm and I not hungry and down about 450 calories....
Will go out now and walk for a couple hours....then a light dinner...
Tomorrow...jogging! I am sure my glycogen vats will still be stored to provide all that extra energy.

i ate 1200 calories from burger king for lunch yeswterday (do to boss bringing it all in )...whoopdy do....lifted after work and ran...ran this morning was a lb under where i was yesterday morning0

You are allowed to enjoy yourself once in a while without counting calories. One meal won't be the end of all your progress.0

I would do nothing. I have cheat days every weekend and it doesn't do anything to the scale. It is good to keep the body guessing every once in a while0
