i am 52 and was an at home mom, but the youngest has left, the other two are settled and i have only been working part time for almost 2 years now. as an at home mom, i finished alot of other peoples dinners so as not to "waste" food, i have eaten dessert, snacks and junk because "i deserve it", i have cooked, baked and treated myself into a 100 extra pounds and in anticipation of someday being grandma, i need to lose this weight so i will see my sons be daddys, my grand kids grow up, and get off of some of these meds i am on due to high blood pressure and what nots. so i am giving this an optimistic try, my middle son is my diet buddy and i think this site will be a very good tool so that i can reach my goal. any support and advice is welcome as i have been over weight for so long, it feels normal and i want a new normal.

I love your final line on here, specifically, 'I want a new normal'. That really resonated with me, as I want a new normal too because for the last 14 years I have been overweight.
I am happy to see you start and I look forward to watching your progress. Feel free to add me if you need advice or encouragement.0
