I am usually a teacher (most weeks) but the last two weeks we have been on vacation and I have been working my other job as a manager at a movie theatre. The shift runs from 5-midnight. I have been sleeping late (and eating breakfast?lunch? late) then when I get home from theatre i usually eat something for supper. When do you track your calories when you eat supper at midnight??? Any suggestions??? Also is there any way to translate pedometer miles/steps to calories burned?? I walk a lot more at the theatre than normal I would like to count that as exercise but all I have is pedometer readings??
Thanks
Not used to working the night shift ;-)

Judging that you are not up all night long, I would count my calories for the day from the time I wake up in the morning until I go to bed. Starting a new day when you wake up. Basically you just adjust your day to the hours you are awake, so your first meal would still be breakfast, second lunch, etc...

As far as the pedometer goes I am not sure, You could log in your miles as walking moderate speed and figure out how fast it would actually take you to walk those miles consecutively. Or you could just be sure to eat your allotment for the day and count them as bonus points.

Good luck, I worked straight nights for 7 years and when I got to go to afternoons I felt sooo much better. Now that I don't work at all I have been surprised at how good I feel. You know actually getting the sleep that I need. Take care of yourself, and be sure to get your sleep.
