Good afternoon Sixers! Happy New Year!
I'm "starting over" again today. I just logged my current weight and waist & hip measurements. I'm really going to concentrate on logging everything I put in my mouth and drinking my water today (got 2 of them in already). I will start exercising tomorrow. I'll still get some exercise in today. We're going to take the kids to the soccer field at the park to ride their bikes. I'll get lots of exercise running behind Samantha!
Here's to 2010! :drinker:0 -
Hi there ... I'm still not back to my routine ... maybe Monday when I'm back to work. I think I've got a touch of the holiday blues. I'm sure it will pass. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and I wish you all a very happy new year.0
-
Hey Amy, Mag, and verda!
Just stopped by to wish you all a Happy weekend!!!
Where are the rest of the New Year's resolutions!? I wanna read them! LOL!0 -
I think they left us Tiff!!!!! Sixers I hope your not Six feet under, because that can be your only excuse for not posting to us!!!! LOL
I have had a great day! (PBTG) The temp was up to 28* today with no wind and abundant sunshine! I went jogging through snow and over snow drifts for 4.25 miles, burned 486 calories! I felt alive and healthy, so did the pooches!!! The last 1/2 mile I was tired but I could hardly wait to tell ya!!! I sure hope you had a blessed day too!!
Verda0 -
Verda- Glad you had an amazing day. Good job on feeling alive today!!!
Tiff- Nice resolns. Good job. Love ya sis
Amy- Start over until you winn!!!
I'm glad everyone is doing well. Glad we are working towards our goals
As for me... I have a very exciting announcement. My favorite new years resoln is that I will lose 10% of my body weight in the first 6 months of the year. That gives me 24 weeks to remove..... 19.5 lbs. That's a goal that I can obtain. YAY!!!! I weighed in this year at 195.5. I started last year at 218. I removed forever 22.5 last year. Yep! I did that! I like to look at the year in a whole. I know in the summer I was 193, so I gained back 2.5 lbs but I will call that a learning experience. I've been reading old journals and I once weighed 248, when I graduated school I was 242 so overall I have removed 52.5 lbs. Crazy!!!
WE can do this!! One step at a time and one day at a time. Or even ONE meal at a time. Lets be ready for all that's to come.
Love ya all,
Tamm0 -
Tamm - That's wonderful! And the weight loss shows! You look fantastic!
Well, my day didn't go quite as planned. We took the kiddos to the park to ride bikes, but it was so cold that after 5 minutes, my daughter's fingers were turning blue. We forgot gloves. :grumble: She told us maybe we should wait until Spring to go riding again. I didn't eat well (mostly breakfast & snacks) and I didn't exercise, but I got 6 cups of water in. Not my goal of 8, but much better than I've been doing. My goal for tomorrow is 8 cups of water & walking at least half a mile.
Hope everyone has a great night!0 -
good morning...
verda wish i had your determination.....way to go.
yesterday was a terrible day, glad it is over. just a quick run down. the house is going up for auction instead of sale (been waiting for them to take for over 2yrs now). they finally came and got the broken down van last night. we claimed bankruptcy a few years ago. sure did take them long enough to get this stuff. but, as long as it's gone. son & i got into it. about poor management of money. wish he could get it at age 29. cause it affected me i am co-joint on his bank account. which they won't remove me until overdrawn balance paid. life sure gets in the way at times...
my resolutions.....not a complete list, haven't really thought about it.
1) learn to live with food, not for food, or let it control me.
2) not to be so hard on myself
3) bring back God. i miss him
well, need to get some laundry caught up and other stuff. i put on my pedometer yesterday. working to the 5000 steps for the month, than work up from there.0 -
son did get me a customer today. who might turn into a client. yea, my first victim.....LOL
cold time to light a fire. take dogs out and get in some steps only at 2718 and it's after 5. been sitting looking for this fella.
off to get it done.

Hey Ladies, I am here. Off to a rought start this new year. I am starting back tomarrow morning. Just to let you all know Whiskey my puppy dog, is not doing good. I thought she was going to pass on New Years Day. She has been having a series of strokes lately. She loses all of her motor skills and is in major pain. Theres not much I can do at this point. She seems to come out of these fits with in 12 to 24 hours. And is some what normal for a week or so. However they keep coming sooner and sooner. I love her so much and it is hard to watch her go through all this. I am going to talk to the vet tomarrow and see if he thinks I should put her down the next time this happens. It's not what I want to do but I hate seeing her in so much pain.
Anyway tomarrow I begin my journey for the new year..... and start getting myself ready for my wedding. We still haven't set a date at this point but still looking toward Oct.
Sorry this is so late getting out to you all But HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU WONDERFUL SIXERS!!!!!

Awww Kel! We had to do that back in July with our dog. He was having strokes. He couldnt see or hear. We made the hard decision and put him down. I still miss him but I know he is not suffering anymore. It was not the way a dogs life is supposed to be and hanging onto him was only for ourselves and not for him. My thoughts are with you0 -
Amy- Lets just be happy about the 6 glasses you did get in! congrats!!! You will do better tomorrow!
Cathy- great Goals for the year. Those are very attainable. Glad you have your first client too.
Kel- I'm so sorry to hear about your puppy. I have a dog and I'm sure I would be very sad about it. I know you love her. I'm praying for you. Congrats on the wedding. I hope you have happy planning. Go to the library for budgeting tips. I like to read about ways to save on weddings but I'm not getting married. LOL
As for me... I'm doing well. I did a bootcamp video today and the elliptical. I ate within my caloric goals. Very excited about that. I even went to the mall in the last 30 mins it was open so I wouldn't look around. I went to get what I wanted and then.... left. Small victories.
I'm wishing everyone a wonderful week!!! Lets do this ladies. If you need support we are all here!
Take care,
Tamm0 -
Kel - I'm so sorry to hear about your puppy! I understand what you're going through. My Great Pyrenees just turned 13 today and is having more and more problems standing. She has severe arthritis in her back hips, especially the right one. My thoughts are with you. And congratulations on your engagement!0
-
Hello ladies,
I'm so glad you are still here, even though I tend to disappear through the week. Your posts are very encouraging and lightheaded and I LOVE IT!
I'm in for a rough week emotionally (happens every year now for six years around the anniversary of my dad's death), but I'm determined to get in my exercise and eat healthy to keep my mental state going strong. Also going away with hubby on his business trip for 3 days of a little R&R for me during the day, and evening time with him. Won't be great on the diet, but the hotel has an exercise room I am going to be putting to good use.
Hope your weekend went well. Here is to an awesome start for Monday!0 -
Goodness. I am just going to skip all the mess ups I have done this week. I will just say it was bad. haha
I was reading an article on keeping with a "resolution" and how it is much more than just eating right. I thought it had good information but then I got to this part
"And make sure to record one other item: your weight. Climb on the scale at least once a week if not every day, says Tallmadge."
I don't understand why some people thing that.
The article also had this website with some yummy recipes.

Went to the gym today.
Only did 20 minutes on the elliptical and then some weight training. Not the greatest, but is is my first time going back in like...5 months!0 -
Hey Everyone,
Thank you so much for your prayers and thoughts. Whiskey is doing okay for now. We went to the vets today and he put her on phenobarbital. He said the seizers will come and go. So we will hang in there for now. As far as me getting back into the saddle I did manage to post all my foods today and keep the calories with in the limits. I didn't however work out there was just too much going on. I am curious as to what the scale will read in the morning....
Will chit chat with everyone tomarrow at check in.
Again thank you for being here always,:flowerforyou:

I'm back, and mostly caught up on reading posts. The "in laws" (fiance's parents) left today after almost a week of visiting and cooking delicious Cuban food. Now that the house is almost back to normal, I'm back on track. I'm sure tomorrow won't be fun since I won't be eating lots of carbs and fat, but I'd rather lose weight. :-)

I am so glad everyone is doing well. Congrats!!!!
Each day lets be proud of our small victories... they all ADD up!
today (Monday) I went to Step Class after work, Did a bootcamp DVD (10mins) and elliptical 15 min (warm up before step) and I walked 25 mins a lunch. SEEMs like alot but I was seizing the opportunities. LOL.
I stayed within my caloric goals for three days in a row. i'm proud of that.
Ttyl,
Off to bed...Tamm0 -
Hello Sixers! I made my goals today! I got all 8 cups of water, walked 1 mile on the treadmill and was well below my calorie goal. I was only 335 over today.
My goals for tomorrow are:
drink 8 cups of water
walk 1 mile
go no more than 900 cals over (I have problems going cold turkey)
watch my new Jillian Michaels DVD, and maybe try part of it too.
Have a great night!0 -
Went to the gym yesterday for a step class, and half way through was ready to leave. Couldn't get my brain wrapped around it for some reason. Stuck it out, but didn't burn nearly as many calories. Didn't even go near the treadmill. Went home and slept. Hoping to do better today, but had a headache last night that I woke up with (I hate when that happens) even after my husband rubbed my head and shoulders for 30 minutes last night. TENSION!!!! Oh well. Weigh in later today. Not hoping for miracles, but maintaining would make me content.
Hope everyone has a great day!!!0 -
see new post for week 50
