Sugar???

So I just changed my settings on my food log to track sugar and I am shocked! It states that I should on have 24 grams (I am assuming it tracks in grams?) but I have already consumed 55! And I have hardly ate much at all... I had one teaspoon of sugar in my coffee this morning, but I have also had grapes, blackberries, an apple and some raisins, which has put me over.

So my question is, how are you to get your servings of fruits in if the amount of sugar you are suppose to consume is so low?
I already feel that I sometimes starve myself, so how in the world would I cut even more????? :noway: Help!!

This is just me.. but I don't worry about it UNLESS they are all coming from sweets and stuff like that but if its from fruit than I don't worry about it... hope this helped!

That does help, I have always heard so much bad things about sugar, and deciding to start tracking it, so that was kinda a shocker, Thanks!

I asked this question a couple of months ago because I was so confused. I was basically told by people to not worry about sugars coming from fruits and such but just too look at the processed food that I was eating/the sugar content. I still go way over in sugars too.
  • I'm always way over in sugar too, but I don't track it because most of my sugars are from natural healthy sources rather than added sugars. There's a HUGE difference. PLUS, I think the MFP numbers are a little low... Here's an article on how much ADDED sugar you should have. http://health.yahoo.com/experts/joybauernutrition/40/sugar-how-much-should-we-eat/
