Okay, I tried to read that but couldn't. I know that at 5'2" and 116 lbs I'm certainly not considered over weight, but I can see the fat around my middle!0

I was at 116 pounds and 5'6", an avid hiker and backpacker, and I STILL had a pouch around my midsection. At a certain point you have to realize that genetics and body makeup play into how you're going to look. No matter how much exercise I do, I will never have a body like Jillian Michaels. BUT I look pretty good now, exercise, eat very healthy, and am considered a hot mama for 41, pooch in the middle, thighs that won't tighten, and all.0 -
Maybe I missed something but what I was aiming for was some idea of what I should weigh if I want to be at a good body fat% for me and have some muscle. I thought 115 might be a good goal weight since when I was at 105 way back when, I had almost no shape to me, just a stick:laugh: :laugh:0

Some interesting info here: http://www.cordianet.com/calculator.htm
I'm 5'3" and 112, but I have a small frame. I still have curves, tho, so I have quit losing (after losing 38 lbs over a year and 7 months) and am now in maintenance. But I agree with all the info that says it's not so much the numbers as how you feel about your body. The female pooch is from estrogen. To totally get rid of it, your body fat needs to be really low, and that's not really a good thing, particularly if you want to have children or if you are entering menopause. That said, you can flatten it better with diet, "clean eating" and minimal or no processed foods, than you can with exercise. Once it's flat (or almost there) the work you do in the gym comes into play to make it look more like a 6 pack.0 -
I'd like to get some calipers but for now, online I got 37 on the military calculator. that is about right if you see me naked. For your sake I hope you never have to:laugh:  By this time next year I might be able to wear that 2-piece though;) denise:drinker: :drinker:0
