Hello guys... I have a few questions.
1. How do you figure what your calorie intake should be? I'm doing 1400 and doing really well, but is that a good amount?
2. I have Sjogrens Syndrome (very much like Lupus & Fibro), it's a systemic autoimmune disease, where the symptoms are dryness of skin, eyes, rheumatoid arthritis, fatigue, sick feelings and I have all of those on a weekly basis, & having severe pain in my legs, hips and back, on top of all of that, I feel last summer and ruptured 2 of the disks in my lower back and I have scoliosis. So exercising is something I dread doing. I mean I really hate it!! If I clean the whole house one day, I hurt for 2 or 3 days after. Anybody else have similar problems?
3. I have a very supportive family, but they don't want to eat the healthy stuff I'm trying to eat. Any ideas on how I can still eat healthy when my family doesn't want to!?
Thanks, Sherry

MFP's calorie goals are fairly good. There are also tons of tools all over the web that will tell you how many calories per day you need for maintenance, and you want to be eating about 500 less than that per day.
As to the food, there are things I could say. The first is that, well, you want to eat this, they don't, oh well. Since I don't know what you are eating I can't make any definite judgements here. I will tell you that I started out at 213 and am down to 165 by eating cheeseburgers, chocolate bars (in moderation), steak, you name it. As long as they're not eating twix bars deep fried in vegetable oil washed down with gallons of beer I don't think there's going to be a huge problem as long as you control your portions.0 -
I like MFP's formula, but you have to give it smart input if you want it to give you a smart plan.
If your family doesn't eat healthy food, just don't eat what your family eats. Eat something different.0
