Will protien shakes make you gain weight if you are trying to lose? Big question right now. My hubby is working out and running. He wants to build muscle mass so he is taking whey protien 2x a day. Is this ok?

If he is consuming enough protein and lifting weights he will gain muscle and probably some body fat. If you are consuming more calories than you are burning you will gain weight. However, he must lift hard and heavy, in addition to eating CLEAN to gain mass. Protein shakes will not make you gain body fat, eating too much will.0

What exactly is "clean" eating?0

Clean eating is eliminating all processed junk and eating whole foods such as ezekiel bread, fresh fruit and veggies, lean meat, etc... It eliminates all foods with added sugar and basically anything on a label that you don't recognize or can't pronounce. Hope this helps! If you are interested in more information check out Tosca Reno's Clean Eating series. She discusses how to get lean and lose weight without starving! It has been a big help in my journey and I highly recommend it!0
