Hauling hay

I am going to go help my neighbor load some square bales of hay on a wagon in a few minutes. Are there any farmers, or non-farmers, out there that could help me decide how to log that. I don't want to wear my HRM, because it is just a watch and I'm afraid I'll scratch/lose it in the field. I thought about weight lifting, but the calories from that are really low and I would think hauling hay would be more. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'd probably log it as Moving Household Items - carrying boxes.

I would log it as a journey through he11. I grew up in the country and have thrown more of those bales than I care to remember. Few things suck worse than that grueling work with dust and dried grass flying in the air and sticking to your sweaty skin. forget logging it--just survive it.

How was it? I do not miss those days!!!!

gmichealguy, I actually enjoyed it. I must like the dust and dried grass sticking to my sweaty skin. When I was growing up the entire neighborhood would get together and help each other with this job. All the kids would do what they could and then ride on top of the wagon/hay to the barn and help unload. Still remember the load that fell in the road and we all had to jump to save our lives. :noway: I think it brings back good memories for me. Yes, those are good memories.

I'm happy I could still throw those bales. Gave me a sense of accomplishment and "not being old."
