I am curious how many on here are what I would consider real serious cyclists. Just wondering who here has a yearly goal of at least 5,000 miles, or at least 400 a month when you can cycling for those living in area where you cannot cycle year round.

  • Hello, I love to ride and just reached 1,000 miles YAY!!!! Living in Ohio, when I can't ride outside I Spin. However, this past winter was so mild we were able to ride in Feb. and March. =)
  • We get to ride all year round here but I ride rollers if the weather is too wet or I feel whimpy. They are great for helping your form on the bike and clean up pedal stroke issues.
  • Any other cyclists out there who are looking for winter mileage motivation?

Sadly, my winter mileage will be on a spinning bike at the studio and on my trainer at home. I know people that ride year 'round here but I'm not that hardcore (lots of snow, ice and -305C temperatures in Jan & Feb) I'll probably ride up until the end of November or mid-December (depending on when the snow flies) and the bike stay on the trainer until mid to late April.

I was aiming for 1000 miles a month to hit 12000 for 2012 after reaching 11500 in 2011 after a very slow start following a knee operation. Just passed 12500 miles so now pushing for 14000.

    Yes - me!

I planned to get up at 6am and head out at 7:00 for a tiny 8 miles to work. It was dark and felt cold when I first got up - now it's 7:32 it is not so dark and it feels mild out there but not enough time to get to work in time.

    Another car drive :-(
