I appreciate your effort to be helpful, but much of this information has been proven to be false. Eat at a moderate calorie deficit and exercise regularly. It is really as simple as that.

Here's a tip: Stop believing things you read in Women's magazines0

TLDR. Noticed a lot of false info in what I skimmed tho. I hope someone doesn't read through all this and think they can't lose weight if they don't eat breakfast and buy organic. How silly would that be .........
Thankful I know eat less than you burn is all it takes... :drinker:0 -

Steps 1 and 2 were really the key. Step 3 is negotiable.0 -
I like 'organic produce' being likened to a car's fuel source. I don't know about anyone else, but I usually add a couple of shots of Octane booster after a fill. That's like GMO, right?0

1- breakfast has no impact on metabolism. It does not stop because you are sleeping.
Drinking cold water doesn't make that much of a difference. 10 or so calories a day are not what will make a difference long term.
Brew up some green tea: "It's the closest thing to a metabolism potion," says Tammy Lakatos Shames, R.D., author of Fire Up Your Metabolism: 9 Proven Principles for Burning Fat and Losing Weight Forever....yea well why not trust someone that wrote a book with THAT title. To burn fat you have to eat less calories than you burn.....period.
Buy organic to help you metabolism???? Holy **** this is groundless.
Cardio do not help the metabolism and even HIIT is maybe not that great.....
2. Drinking cold water as opposed to lukewarm increase the metabolism by simple mathematics... 1 mean calorie is the energy required to raise one gram of water one degree centigrade 1 kilocalorie or nutritionist's calorie is the amount of energy that must be used to raise one kilogram (one liter of water) one degree celsius... to raise two liters (2000 grams) of water from freezing 0 celsius to normal human body temperature or 37 will require 74 calories... or the equivalent of a medium sized apple or a large egg. Three liters of water will require 111 calories to raise the temperature sufficiently to pass through the body. Basic definitions of a calorie...
3. "The health effects of pesticides depend on the type of pesticide. Some, such as the organophosphates and carbamates, affect the nervous system. Others may irritate the skin or eyes. Some pesticides may be carcinogens. Others may affect the hormone or endocrine system in the body. EPA's human health risk assessments for many pesticides are available on the web."

4. Cardiovascular exercise and metabolic function is how calories are burnt in the first place!!! C6H12O6 + 6 O2 = 6CO2 + 6H2O... Simple non-chemistry explanation... Sugar + Oxygen yields Carbon Dioxide (bad gas you exhale) + Water (waste water that gets removed from body through sweat or urine)... The energy released during the process is what gives us body heat and also is used to change ADP molecules into ATP molecules within our cells for the actual energy source within the cells of your body. Basic life science and chemistry taught in the seventh and eight grade... While increasing lean body mass will produce a body that can burn more calories than a leaner body the amount of calories used by the body over the course of a day will still be only proportionally larger. Studies also show that lower body mass corresponds with longevity, which is probably one of the reasons you are on here like the rest of us.0 -

I don't always play with dead things...

1. eating itself has an impact on metabolism (TEF) - but it is irrelevant when you eat as you will still have the same TEF at the end of the day.
2. negligible impact - it is totally micromanaging the process
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16822824
Extract:
Drinking distilled water at room temperature did not increase energy expenditure. Cooling the water before drinking only stimulated a small thermogenic response, well below the theoretical energy cost of warming the water to body temperature. These results cast doubt on water as a thermogenic agent for the management of obesity.
3. your response does not address the impact on metabolism
4. Cardio uses energy, yes. So, if you use the definition of metabolism to mean TDEE - yes it does increase it - but any activity does.0 -
This reminds me of those "1 Crazy Tip of a Flat Belly!" ads I see on websites.0
