mono & poly fats - theyre good right?

ok, so I've just updated to the new MFP app, and I noticed that the fat calculation has changed. Now the mono and poly fats have a value of zero (on the website also) and I'm a little confused. This means as soon as you eat any unsaturated fats you are getting a but fat negative for the amount you have eaten that day. That doesn't make sense because you are supposed to eat these fats right? I mean if you have a daily fat allowance of 50 grams, and 20 grams is saturated, then the other 30 is going to be made up of mono and poly fats, which is normal riiight?

So why is it automatically going red? does anyone else see this?

I guess the overall question is that these fats are healthy and part of a balanced diet. I can understand trans fats having a value of 0 because they are to be avoided, but I dont understand the logic of an equation that leaves room for something in the allowance, and then as soon as you eat it goes "HEY, DONT DO THAT THAT NORMAL THING YOURE DOING IS BAD, TOTALLY BAD, TO THE CORE" in big red letters.

I hate things with a minus next to them that are coloured red. it makes me sad. :(

MFP doesn't set a recommended daily limit for MUFAs and PUFAs. You can change your goals if you want...I just ignore the red lol. MUFAs are better for you than PUFAs because we eat sooooo many PUFAs that are high in omega 6 that our ratio of omega 6:omega 3 fatty acids is off balanced. So PUFAs in moderation are fine, but MUFAs and saturated fat are better for you.
