Hi All,
So i've only recently gotten on the overnight oatmeal bandwagon and my question is:
If i made a batch tonight, how long would it last in the fridge?
Thanks

i've eaten mine 2 days later...still tasted exactly the same. i've been wondering too how long you can keep it without it getting gross.0

I'm just curious, is this for "soaking" the grain or saving time the next day?
I used to soak my grains because it's easier on digestion, changes the PH, etc. But I'm finding I like the texture better when it's freshly cooked. OH I love oatmeal.
Personally I would eat it within two days.0 -

Its more for saving time the next day - i can just grab it out the fridge and eat it at work, so was wondering if i could make it tonight for monday and tuesday0 -
I don't like it but from what I've read it's good for something quick and it's really good for you. And it's for a summer cold cereal.

This says up to 5 days depending on the ripeness of the fruit. It will give you lots of varieties also0 -
Mine depend on what I add to them. If you do the recipes using greek yog., then try to eat them within 2 days because dairy can start to break down. Plus, personally, I think they start to taste different. My favorite right now is the 'pumpkin pie' one taken from this site. My 20 year old daughter has me make her the raspberry one 4-5 times a week. Very handy to take on the go. Good luck on your journey !0

I follow the recipe on the McCann's Steel Cut Oats package, soaking overnight in the fridge...except I add chia seeds. In the morning I cook for about 5 minutes on the stove (taking the sauce pan right out of the fridge from the night before). I divide into 4 or 5 single serving containers and eat it for breakfast for the next 4 or 5 days. Still tastes good on day 5. I warm in microwave with a little water. I make my oats with water and not milk, so that might make a difference in how long it keeps.0

You don't but I'm sure you can warm it up if you want it warm. I wish I liked oatmeal : ( it looks amazing, but I can't get over the texture and the flavor of the oats.0
