I have a crush on a friend I met here at the dorm! I never been with the same sex, when I first met her I thought she was a dude until I start talking to her and yeah. Anyways I'm not her type and I bet she only like me as a friend. I'm fat, funny and weird and I annoy her at times. Is it wrong for me to use her as motivation to lose weight?
Everytime I'm around her I get all clumsy and my heartbeat faster.

Use whatever motivates you, so long as you can do so without wanting to wear her face.
But in all seriousness.... Find what can keep you going and do it.0 -
use whatever you want as motivation. just because your not her type doesnt mean you cant be attracted to her0

I agree above, use whatever you can to motivate you,
I use my partner to motivate me.
If it's going to truly help you, why not.
Good luck. x0 -
Take it from someone older than you - inappropriate attractions are titillating but only cause pain in the long run. Right now I avoid looking directly at the butcher at my local market. He's superfine plus I'm married equals no eye contact! It sounds old fashioned, what's a few flirtations/fantasy gonna do, people think. You're a heterosexual, she's posing as a man. Do you think whatever romantic notions you have are worth the problems the relationship would cause you? Getting jeered down the street, dealing with her anger issues, isolation, taking her that looks like him to meet your parents? Relationships are hard enough without the added drama. The others are too PC about criticizing anyone's sexual inclinations, so they'll encourage you, but they aren't the ones that will have to live with the consequences.0

This is super cute!!!
Why do you think that you are not her type? Did she tell you so? Or is it just what you fear?
Why should it be wrong to use her as your motivation to lose weight? (not that you would have to, to be loved back)
Actually, this is what pushes me too. to be able to have a real chance with someone I have feelings for. I think whatever motivates you is fine and along the way, you maybe will find yourself doing it for yourself. The hard part is always getting started and if she helps you with that, that´s amazing, isn´t it?
I am not sure why the person above me assumes that you are heterosexual, the fact that you still feel so attracted to her even after you know that she is a "her" actually gives me the impression, that you are maybe not. I don´t even think this matters, why not just going for the person you want/feel attracted to? despite their gender (religion, wealth, education, appearance...)
I actually don´t understand the rest of the response either, the "being jeered down the street, anger issues, isolation, look of the parents". I could not point out where this person got that the girl you like got anger issues, or any issues at all..
Being with someone I love actually always made me want to go out and NOT isolate myself as much. I would like to believe that your parents are happy with whoever you will be, as long as this person will make you happy.
I am not encouraging you to get after what you want (instead of what others think is what you should get) to be political correct, I do so because I believe you deserve to be happy and I see absolutely no issue at all, in being with someone of the same sex. And whoever got a problem with you being with a girl is maybe too judgemental to deserve your friendship.
I really wish you the best in your life.
oh and congratulations on your success. (weight loss)0
