The plateau

So I've heard there's such thing as a 'plateau' when it comes to weight loss - where you reach a point where your weight just won't budge.
On January 1st I weighed my maximum 146lbs (10st 6) and since then my lowest weight has been 127lbs (9st 1) - a total loss of 19lbs and I am currently 130lbs (9st 4) and cannot seem to maintain or get past that 9st 1 mark! My weight fluctuates between 127 and 132 and no matter how well I stick to eating healthily and exercising, I cannot seem to lose this excess weight. If you'll look at my profile you'll see that I'm just gaining and losing that same 5lbs constantly, it just won't go away and stay away!
I am aiming to get down to 118 lbs (8st 6) by the end of the year - a further loss of 9lbs so that I can comfortably pursue my career in horse racing. (I have checked my BMI and I would still be well within the 'healthy weight' range at this weight). I recently joined a gym and am aiming to go at least 3x per week.
I just wondered if anyone has experienced this 'plateau' and how they got over it, if they did. I am not UNhappy with my weight right now, but I'm still not happy either.
Any tips? Should I try out this '30 day shred' ?

I like to be 9st and I have to work really hard to get there.I do believe we all have a weight our body likes to be whether thats 8-9-10-11 st we all have an idea body weight. For me I have to be really careful with bread pasta..starchy carbs etc in order to get to My ideal weight.I have to do a lot of cardio and not weights as I also gain muscle easily. Hope this helps. good luck0

Hi when my weight has plateaud in the past , I have calorie cycled for a week , it usually is enough to confuse my body into shifting again.
I know that this doesnt work for everyone , or some people don't agree with it maybe try a different form of exercise for a week ?
Hope it shifts for you soon x x x0 -
Whenever I plateau I add activia to my diet and usually try to do a 1 in 3 booster day. I continue my diet 2 out of 3 days and have 2 days a week where I eat fillers and try to get over the 2000 calorie number with good filling foods either high in protein or high in carbs. I find that doing this helps kick start my matabolism and keeps my digestion moving fast and allows my body to break down and use the foods I eat when on my lower calorie cut days.
If you continue to just keep the the minimum intake your body will adjust and go into a slight starvation mode and do its best to maintain.0
