    I once read a book that suggested that it was a terrible idea to eat fruit. that it is not at all needed for a balanced diet.

    Not suggesting that, or saying I agree. I just thik it's funny that you can read about how great something is and how awful that same thing is

    Hi... just started on this low sugar diet due to possibility of being diabetic.... I am now confused, I have been having a banana, berries and I am not a big fan of apples/pears, but will juice them once a day with celery, carrots and cucumber. So do I stick with this, or not. When I put down I have had a banana it takes my sugar levels right over, but surely this is 'good' sugar.
    Any help on this would be great. thanks x

    Fiber is indigestable and doesn't count toward net carbs. Subtract the fiber from the carb number.

    Fruit is full of vitamins, minerals, and other great things that are really good for you.

    Also, carbs aren't evil.
