I am going to be doing the weigh myself once a week thing. I weighed in on Friday and decided to get on the scale today for some unknown reason....well mostly because I was off the wagon this weekend with pizza, cupcakes and liquor.
So I told myself I would start making weekly weight loss goals instead of my overall 55lbs goal. I thought it would be a good idea to step on the scale today to get an idea of where I want to be this coming Friday. I know I am supposed to weigh in during the morning because of food and water weight, but at 5pm I stepped on the scale anyway.
I am 10lbs more at 5pm Monday than I was 8am Friday. Is that really food and water weight? Did I gain most of that from over eating on the weekend? I didn't record the food, but it wasn't like a whole pizza and 10 cupcakes.. It was two slices of vegie pizza and one cupcake and a couple vodka and diet frescas....oh and I ate out for breakfast on Saturday and that was pretty high in calories.
Any ideas? Is this a normal fluctuation for anyone else?

I HIGHLY doubt that you've gained 10 pounds of real fat in the last 4 days...... my guess is that it's mostly water and shall we say.... food that has yet to be processed and disposed of......?:flowerforyou:0

I've weighed six pounds more in the evening than I did in the morning before. It's just natural weight fluctuations. You probably have some water retention from this weekend on top of all of the food and water you've had today.
Unless you ate 35,000 calories over and above your daily TDEE each day (so probably closer to about 40,000 calories since 8am Friday) then you didn't really gain 10 lbs of fat/weight that is going to stick around.
As an example, two cups of water weighs about a pound. So if you drink two cups of water after weighing in and you now weigh a pound more because of the basic weight of the water now in your stomach, did you really "gain" a pound? The answer to that will answer your question.0
