UGH I can only consume 1 more gram for the day and I'm puzzled as to how I will achieve this.....

    Any suggestions are welcomed!

I'm in - now let me go check and see.

Katie L - I'll try and stop to see what you have eaten today and see if I can offer any tips :flowerforyou:

Katie L - I stopped over but didn't have the option to view your food log - but I did see that we aren't friends yet so I sent you a request. :flowerforyou:

As for me, I still have 15 grams of fat remaining for today and 583 calories left to consume....not so sure what I am going to eat to meet my calories for the day.

I didn't realize my diary was private (must be the default setting) I have now made it public so now I'll feel even more accountable knowing that you all can look at what I eat!

I ended up eating leftovers and although I DID go over in the fat it was only by a few grams. But now I'm in the situation where I have a couple hundred more calories to consume but I can't think of anything I could eat??? What a day!

    Jill: 1 day below 30% (22%)

(Formula: Total Fat Grams x 9 ÷ Total Calories = Percentage of Calories from Fat.)

Way to go Jill on staying under 25% for fat! YAY! :drinker:

So far for today I've added the base of what I'll eat, but until I get to the gym and see how much cals I actually burn I can't add them and then the subsequent food I'll need to consume afterwards. Do you always eat back ALL of your exercise cals? I know this is a touchy subject here on MFP but I'm just curious as to what works for others.

    I hate to tell you, but your math was wrong (42 x 9 ÷ 1,031 = 37%).

    Katie L: 1 day below 30%

I'm OBVIOUSLY not good with math so I won't try and give my actual percentage but I still had 7 grams of fat that I didn't consume with the setting at 25% for fat. YAY FOR ME!

Jill - Are we the only ones doing this? If so oh well but I've really been feeling good about not consuming as much fat. Hopefully my belly will soon be looking like yours!

Excellent job! Not sure if we'll end up being the only ones, but that's OK if we are. It's cool, too, if others want to join in.

I was trying to keep up with you ladies - but I'm using my own food challenge of simply making sure I log all my foods every day. I know everyone else is probably used to that. After falling off the wagon, I wouldn't consider logging for a few months - so I'm very proud of my new found motivation! I won't be doing the fat content challenge, but I will cheer you guys on! Go Jill and Katie, go go go! :flowerforyou: (pretend the flower is a pom-pom)

Ok, so I forgot we had these challenges! and it's probably because today is my first day logging!! i was lazy this past weekend! but all better now! I'm going to attempt this with you guys! I set mine to 25%, thinking it would be easy! but it's not! I'm already over today! and the main cause seems to be eggs( i can't stand just egg whites!) and nuts. any suggestions?
i will log today as my 1st day when its over, maybe i'll exercise some more to try and gain some fat back! well, you know what i mean!

Kim - I had forgotten about this on the first day and when I looked at what I had already eaten at that point I was over so what I did (under Jill's AWESOME advice) was logged everything BEFORE I ate it and I've been on point since. So my new challenge is to log my day's food the day before it happens. That way I'll 1.) Be sure I eat properly and 2.) Have my meal prepared (at least in my mind)and that'll help prevent split second bad decisions. So far so good! Check out my diary if you wanna see what I've been eating - I've been really good about logging! YAY FOR ME! I'm gonna wait until after I work out to log my dinner cause I'm not sure what exactly I'm gonna do and how many cals I'll be burning. Good luck Kim..... YOU CAN DO IT! :drinker:

    thanks!

I like some yolk in my eggs too. What I do for breakfast is make scrambled eggs. I use three eggs, but I throw two of the yolks down the drain. That's enough yolk to give it flavor without the fat of all three yolks.

I know a lot of people encourage the eating of nuts, peanut butter and olive oil because they're healthy fats. That may be true, but they're still fats, and as long as I'm trying to burn the fat off my body, I figure the less I put back in it, the better. That said, I do have a little olive oil every day in my salad dressing, but the key word there is "little." I make a delish red balsamic vinaigrette, but a little goes a long way. I use half a tablespoon on my spinach salad every afternoon, and yes, I do measure it.

That's a good idea Jill. I didn't have time to scramble eggs this morning and eat at home, so I boiled some to bring to work. Eating just the boiled egg whites just doesn't do it for me. I will try and scramble me some in the morning like you said. I need to start making time to eat at home anyways. I cook with olive oil sometimes but usually just use the spray stuff. I'm going to cut back on nuts and peanut butter. I don't know when to stop with that stuff anyways!

How do you guys set the fat to ___%? I haven't been able to figure that out since they've revamped this website so much!

I do the same thing with my eggs, completely white eggs are kinda creepy looking! :indifferent:

Kim - If you MUST eat peanut butter (which I  dearly) get some reduced fat kind if you don't know when to say when. That'll help ya out a little. Veggies and fruit are DEF good snacks so stock up on those! I don't really ever snack on nuts because they are so high in fat and since I like peanut butter and eat a tablespoon here and there I figure I'm getting enought of the "right/good for you" fats.

    Currently debating dinner........

Thanks Katie! I'm going to avoid nuts altogether, at least for now! I think it's my best bet!!

    Katie L: 3 days below 30%

I have my settings for MFP at 25% and it says I'm over by a few grams but I switched it to 30% and I'm under by 7grams. So since I've proven myself NOT the mathematician lets just say I'm under 30%. I'm not quite at the 25% I planned but atleast I'm still under 30! YAY!
