I started to use MFP just over a week ago with the aim of losing just over a stone. I have been trying to lose weight since the beginning of this year and managed to lose a stone using my own methods. This worked fine up until 2 months ago when the weight loss stalled and I was maintaining my weight for this 2 month period. On joining MFP I set myself the modest target of losing 1lb per week as I am not an active person and am happy to take it slowly.

During the first week I lost 3lbs and am delighted with this although I am not expecting the same every week.

I find updating very easy after the first few days and also like being able to scan barcodes which avoids having to enter details of any new foods. The system helps me focus on my target and seeing how many calories I have used up and have remaining each day I find invaluable. It is also great that I can update either via my laptop or my ipod and that they sync immediately.

So...so far so good!! Lets hope the good news continues!
