A new emotional eater and smoker !!!!

Hi There :)

About Me

I am a 42 year old mum of 3 :).... We live in Taree NSW Australia :) .... I have decided that since my baby is 6 now I can longer use the whole baby leftovers to explain my size so I decided it's time to do something about it ... Add me as a friend if you wish for some extra support along the way ....
I am sloppy intellectual with a cheeky wit .... I have also been referred to as a Gypsy and Hippy Chick lol ...

I am also an emotional eater... Sometimes when I am about to emotional eat I will reach for a smoke instead which I know is just as bad and with either one I kick myself....

Why I Want To Get In Shape

To be a role model to help my kids with their weight :).... To get my old body back and to not end up huge :) ... To help my diabeties ......Be a fitter person :) ....

My Inspirations
•Be fitter and have more energy to keep up with my kids :)
•See all my kids grow up (youngest of which is 6) and see my grandkids :D
•Help my diabeties

This is day 2 of my journey here, although I have been conscious of my size for a few years and have done a few things about it but I find it hard to stick to anything so I am hoping I will be able to get help here so that I do stick to it this time and maybe even time stop smoking .... I tried to give the smoking away a few weeks ago (after 30yrs smoking without ever quitting) I didn't do too bad for me .... I even went 3hrs at time a few times :) ... But then I got depressed and also realized that I was putting on weight so went back to the smoking ....

Feel free to add me as a friend :D

I took Chantix and it worked great. But had to stop taking it after one month because I gained 8 pounds. 3 months later I went to a school for the Army, went on a break and realized 80% of the class were smokers. Started right back up and haven't quit.

I just joined 5 days ago. I weigh in tomorrow and think I will be down a fair bit. I was an emotional eater and am working hard to avoid this. I quit smoking last year as part of starting a new job. I did put on weight. I also live in Australia in Warrnambool. All the best on your journey as well! It has been helpful to relook at calories again and relaise where my food issues were and the adjustments I needed to make.

    Hi Kayleigh :)

How sore have you been over the last 5 days ???? Today was day 3 and I was drilling lol, still walked though  ... Good luck with your weigh in :flowerforyou: ..... Yep emotional eating is very hard to avoid but we can do it  ... We just to try really hard  .... Congrats on the smoking as I know that is huge thing to do :flowerforyou: .... I think Warrnambool is in Vic isn't it ???? I lived in central Vic for 18months, but with wayyyyyyyyyyy too much stress it was a bad time for me :ohwell: .... Thanks for wishing me luck  , good luck to you too  ....This is the 1st time I have ever looked at calories as I always had no idea, but I agree it's a great thing to do, we can learn lots and fix the areas we have trouble with  ...

I took chantix and quit after a packaday for 17 years, never even had a puff since I quit that day

I've put on 50 lbs in 18 monhts! haha but my lungs are happy .... at least

finally on the losing swing - no regrets :) You can do it!

i found even htough I was exersising I wasn't losing, once i changed my diet two weeks ago I've already lost 6 lbs, you can view my diary if you want :)
  • I have been on this journey for some over 400 days, and I too am a smoker. I decided not to try quitting both at the same time. I found this site and have had much success, and I have slowed my smokes to only 5-6 a day. I do enjoy them, and I'm not quite ready to give them up entirely yet... of course I know I will once I'm ready, just like I set my mind to lose weight. My secret was focusing on one thing at a time. Maybe that will help you. Feel free to add me as a friend, and I look forward to this journey together, even though we are a great distance apart. Good luck on your journey, and remember it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change. :-)
