How do you get added around here??

Anyone have spouse and kids and knows how to make time to exercise?

Any former Army or any prior military that remember old PT routines?

Add me and share the knowledge!!!!!

The big thing to do is involve the family. Go for walks with the kids, play at the park. If able walk them to school. Its doesn't seem like much, but its a great start. Plus you have them for support.

If that's not an option. Look for a gym that offers day care. Use your Wii if you have one. Zumba is great for the whole family to dance and just have fun.

I have a spouse and a 21 month old and a 7 week old, and 6 days a week Im lucky enough to squeeze in 1 hour a day to work out.. I have a very supported spouse, although I do have to time my workouts very early in the morning but its worth it.. Feel free to add me if you'd like~
  • Married with one kid here. I just make it work. You have to make time for yourself. It might be easy for me since I have my own home gym that includes: a hoist half cage (up to 500 pounds of free weight), a bunch of dumbbells, a treadmill, an elliptical and a VKR. So I don't have to go far to workout. BTW, thanks for your service. I lost a cousin in Iraq.

Thank you all for the good ideas. Sometimes you need someone elses perspective to see how to get it done.

I have a wife and four kids. I exercise before work because it's the only time of the day I can get into a routine and know that there won't be any conflicts. Well, usually not, can't even claim that that's true 100% of the time, but pretty close. So I'm up between 5 and 5:30 every morning.
  • I get up very early to exercise. Otherwise, it's not happening.

I'm also prior Army. 73C :flowerforyou:

I'm still in the Army, have a wife and kids. I understand where you are coming from. Nutrition is really the key when you are super busy. Always take care of home first. If you have to do some crunches, planks, flutter kicks and/or push ups before bed, it's better than nothing.
