When did you buy new clothes??

I started at a 16-18 (US sizes), depending on the item.
I caught a glimpse of myself in a 'new' mirror today at the courthouse for jury duty (side note: anyone else get used to themselves in mirrors they use all the time, like at home and work and then are shocked when you see yourself in a different one that shows you in a different light or angle or something??).
Anyway, my clothes, which have been noticeably loose for a couple weeks now, look SO baggy on me. I'm pretty sure I've gone down at least a size. My bra straps are slipping off my shoulders too. My pants are baggy enough to look sloppy.
By the way, THIS IS A GOOD THING!
But I don't want to spend a lot of money as I get to each size on new clothes.
So what did other people do? Go to thrift stores? Buy cheapo stuff just to get you through? I'm really excited about needing smaller clothes, woohoo!

I found a consignment store and bought just enough to get by. I did wear some clothes to death. --and I did have a few things from when I was thinner before. The FAT clothes that were still stylish I sold to the consignment store and am using the store credit to buy absolute necessities.I still want to lose about 7 pounds so we will see how many new things I will need.
--and I wear a lot of yoga pants that are quite helpful in concealing weight loss.0 -
Thrift stores or go to sales at dept stores for the in between sizes. Depending on how much you have left, and how quickly you're losing, you can get away with buying afew pieces that fit right now, and a couple that are a bit too snug....as you'll be fitting into those in no time. The best part is when you actually get to shop for an ENTIRE new wardrobe...very fun!0

I still was wearing size eights until six weeks before I went on a big trip recently. I realized I was only going to be able to take three or four pairs of pants and a couple skirts to wear for a whole month of travelling (carry on size bag) so it would be really nice if everything looked nice and not baggy in the rear.
So I went out and loved the couple of pairs size 6 pants I got at a second hand store. Perfect, as they were also easy to dry and didn't wrinkle atrociously.
On a whim I bought some size 4 jeans---and I ended up wearing those jeans a LOT on the trip. They were a bit snug when I left and now fit just right.
I thought i might gain weight on vacation, but with all the hiking we did, I actually lost a pound DESPITE falling WAY off the wagon as far as my usual eating plan went.0
