Hello everyone! I've obviously new to the site, with my whopping 0 lbs lost. But I am finally serious about losing weight. Now that I've roped my husband into working out with me, it seems that weight loss is possible. Honestly, for me, guilt is the best weapon to get me continuing going to the gym, or eating healthy. So I figured it would be nice to post on the forums and possibly get some people/friends to help me through this process! I'm pretty excited at this point, but definitely also discouraged. My husband and I have been working out pretty much every day, but alas I keep gaining weight instead of losing it. I know, I know, its muscle build up first :p

Anywho, a little about me. I'm 25, live in the Twin Cities and am currently a student/intern. Just finishing up my 4th year of grad school after 4 years of undergrad, so I have a lot of terrible school comfort food weight to lose. I also love video games, that doesn't help does it now, hmm?

I'm going into a career that almost requires me to be fit (its sad, but true) and I worry that I won't be able to find people to hire me because of my weight as it portrays being unhealthy. That has definitely been a big factor in my need for this. That and of course health benefits, but thats an obvious one :)

Looking forward to being part of the community!

edit - I joined January but had done nadda until just over a week ago.

  • Hi. I know what you mean by gaining instead of losing. It happens to me a lot. And I love video games too and those get time consuming.... Since you seem to like video games. If you have a wii you should try the Just Dance games. I haven't seen any progress til I got addicted to those. I can't dance worth a crap but it's still fun lol.

I do have those games, but never got hugely into them unless I was with a group of people. Maybe with the new game coming out soon, I'll get back into it. Thanks for the suggestion :D

If you want a fitness/health oriented friend on here, feel free to add me. I also love video games and work in an academic graduate environment so we have some things in common!
