average person can lose up to 40 percent of their muscle mass between
the ages of 20 and 80. Muscle loss and body fat gain appear to go
hand-in-hand. To limit the amount of muscle mass lost as you age, make
sure to include free weights and/or weight machines in your fitness
program. Incorporating weights into your exercise routine can slow
muscle loss and even build additional muscle.
