Hi all,
I've recently been in a low mood for quite some time and my GP has prescribed me mirtzapine/Remron to help. I've been on it now for 10 days and have already gained 9lbs. I know this is one of the side effects of the drug and I just wanted to know if anyone has lost weight whilst being on this drug? I'm really worried as I saw a psychiatrist Monday who diagnosed me with being bipolar and told me the drugs will make me gain weight and if I diet I will find it hard to lose the weight. I'm getting prescribed more meds next week from my GP for the bipolar but will continue having to take Remron.
I'm finding it really difficult at the minute to find the motivation to get back into the swing of exercise as I was following the Insanity programme but I've now zero energy due to Remron and I feel like a zombie. If anyone out there has taken this drug can you please advise me when the zombie feeling will go and if I will be able to lose weight of this drug?
I know my mental health is more important than my weight but I just want to feel normal again and have the energy for exercise. Much thanks in advance.
