Best time to workout?

Recently lost my job and decided to devote myself to becoming a gym bunny. I have pretty moderate OCD and weigh every morning. I've noticed the next day that when I workout in the morning I lose more weight than if I work out in the afternoon or late in the evening. Is this just a coincidence or is it better for weight loss to work out in the morning?
I worked out Sunday evening and maintained my weight. I worked out Tuesday afternoon and lost about .4#. I worked out yesterday morning and this morning's weigh in had that I had lost 1#.
Coincidence....or something more???

Do you weigh everyday at the same time, no matter the workout?

Your weight can fluctuate day to day. I wouldn't expect to lose 4lbs from a workout.

An intense workout will often cause a bit of water retention in the muscles. So if you're working out in the morning, it's likely that it's a long enough time between that workout and the next weighing to have some of that water retention already be leaving the muscles. But if you workout at night, it's more likely that more water weight from the workout is still present and showing on the scale.

Some people will swear up and down that working out in the morning is best. Others say working out at night. Neither group is correct - workout when it's most convenient for you and when it feels the best. Whatever time of the day that is for you is the best time, because it will make it so that you are more likely to continue and look forward to your workout time rather than feel like it's a forced chore.

I avoid weighing myself everyday because it can be discouraging to see the fluctuations day to day.
Once a week, same day of the week same time, first thing in the morning before showering. (I gained half a pound just showering one day. :)

Best time to workout? I'd say whenever the gym is the least crowded. :glasses:
Less crowded means I can quickly rotate through 2 to 3 different lifts for 3 sets. Also easier to get 2 miles in when the pool isn't crowded.

Workout in the morning is said to jump start the metabolism for the day. But I can't seem to bring myself to get up early enough to get to the Y by 5AM.
