Have done it 2ce now, today with weights and I have a stiff pain in my mid back. I have been trying to stretch it out with no success, any idea which move could have caused this?

Bending the back and twisting at the same time? ouch0

A good Chiropractor can probably fix that in seconds and provide stretches/exercises that can help you. If you lived closer to me I would suggest mine...0

Stop doing it with weights, or stop altogheter, and find something else.0

I had to stretch a lot the first week or so of doing the 30DS. My muscles were really tight and her warm up and cooldown was not sufficient for me.
So I went to youtube, googled back/shoulder stretches, and did those for 10-15 minutes. MUCH better! But I also had bad lower back pain, I didn't realize how weak my back muscles were. I don't have pain anymore though, much stronger now!0 -
You've probably figured this out by now, but the form for some of the moves on her dvd's is HORRIBLE. If you have any joint issues, they are murder, and if you don't.. you may develop some after making it through that. My trainer hadn't seen 30 day shred, but was curious after so many people were complaining about knee issues.... after watching her do the jump lunges, she knew exactly why!!!
Just do your regular crunches ( or really, some standing ab work) and do what works for your body. Much safer!0 -
using muscles that you havn't used will cause them to bark at you. Dont worry unless Only they start screaming0

Thanks all. I see an osteopath and a physio regularly. The physio said today that it was the twists that really were the bad bit, shes not a great fan of crunches either..
However tomorrow I am seeing a pilates teacher, who has spoken with my osteopath and she is going to really sort me out with apporpriate strength and toning exercises - i hope!
DaisyElaine - standing ab exercises? sounds good if they are not needing gym stuff..0 -
Just do a web search for standing abdominal exercises, and a plethora of options come up. Usually, they are more effective, and more functional for your body.
Good luck!0
