Knee-friendly cardio I can do at home?

So what's a good at-home cardio workout that's very easy on the knees? Anyone have any ideas for me?
I'll try to make a long story short -- I messed up my knee recently, there's a long history of knee problems in my family, so I'm letting it rest and I'm not going to risk straining it AT ALL l until it feels 100% again. But I started running and doing a little cycling this summer and now that I'm used to the activity, I've been extremely restless. I feel like I need to get out and MOVE. But I'm having trouble coming up with alternatives to running and cycling that will be easy on my knee. Whatever I do, I have to be able to do at home or near home (no gym), and I definitely don't have the budget to invest in any equipment right now (seriously, not even a spare $30 for the next few weeks)

Just updating in case it might help anyone else....
I found the perfect thing- rollerblading! Low impact, the knees don't flex much so no knee strain, it works most of the muscles I'm supposed to be strengthening to help my knee issues, I can rollerblade right out my door the same times I would run, and it's a great workout. (Plus I never got rid of my rollerblades from like 1993 so zero equipment costs for me :happy: ) It's definitely worth considering for anyone looking for an alternative to running or cycling.

Good for you!
I was going to suggest rebounding (mini trampoline) ..... you can jog on it (lots of other things too) ... but that requires equipment..0 -
elliptical, rowing, inline skating, ice skating, biking, hiking, swimming, speed walking0
