I have a question about online etiquette

Say you loan someone something, ask for it back and they act like they do not know what you are talking about, would you call them out? I am in between a battle of 2 good friends. One loaned something very special to them to this other person. Other person is acting like they have no clue what the first is talking about, so this other person told first person they were going to post on Facebook they were a thief. What do you all think about that behavior? My thinking is let it go. Yes the person should not have kept the item, but first person should not have loaned something so special in the first place. I am curious about the replies:)))

I would try to get my property back, but I would not throw this stuff up on Facebook. Prospective employers Google people and look at Facebook pages and your friends don't want unsubstantiated theft allegations on the web. See if you can talk to them.0

If it was so special why was it lent out? That's just silly. I never expect to get back things I've lent out, mainly because I forget I've lent it to someone and just buy a new one. There's not really any need to put it online, revenge is sweet and all but that's lame revenge. Tell the first friend to speak to the second and to stop being such a puss and have it out directly.0
