I'm 35 years old, 5'5", 163 lbs. My goal weight is 140 - 150. I started at 205, so I've lost quite a bit so far. BUT... my belly is still flabby and I HATE it! I've heard that belly flab is the last to go, and you just have to keep at it until it goes away, but COME ON! I'm only 13 - 23 lbs away from goal and still belly lumps and yuck!

I've had 4 kids, so I know that doesn't help. What can I do to get a flat, little belly??? I work out 2 - 4 times a week. I work my abs all the time. I'm strong and getting stronger, but I want to finally feel slim.

All comments welcome!

I've had 5 children, and I know what you mean. I am about 40lbs away from my goal, give or take, and while my tummy IS shrinking, there is still quite a bit left, and I'm guessing that's where most of what I need to lose is hanging out. My guess is that as you continue to lose the last bit of weight, that will finally go away, at least most of it. I'm holding out hope that that is the case for me, too. I was so heavy that my tummy flopped down and over, giving me a panniculus, but not a super big one, thank goodness. It is shrinking upward and inward, so I'll think positive thoughts for you and for me.

Best of luck in your continued journey to a healthier, trimmer you!

I've had 3 kids, but worse I spent over a decade being obese. Tips I think helped me get the 26" inch waist I have now:

Cut way down on any foods that send your blood sugar soaring because that sets off a chain reaction in your body that leads to fat storage on your belly area. Any flour-based food is a prime suspect along with candy and fast-acting carbs like white rice and potatoes.

Never eat carbs without combining with protein, healthy fats, and fiber to slow impact on blood glucose. See my blog for info - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Enigmatica

Walking and some other forms of exercise can help trim your waist. I focused on walking and did it for up to 3 hours per day (split btw am/pm) while in slim down mode. I think there are other options but I didn't bother to mentally file them because walking was all I needed.

Be on the lookout for foods that cause bloat, which can vary between people. Milk and wheat, even in tiny amounts, bloat me badly. My body can't handle the proteins in either. But I can eat beans and berries all day with no problem, while others may bloat from those.

Research and try different approaches. Every body is unique.
