Hello, this is my first post so to introduce myself a bit - I'm 25, 5ft 1, mother of two :D

I normally weigh as soon as I get up in the morning (6.30am), however my daughter woke me 30 mins early and the scale said 130lbs and 5/8 (what is 5/8 of a lb anyway?) this is up from 128lb exactly yesterday. I was disappointed but thought it was probably due to TOTM due in 3 days. I then weighed again 30 mins later (my usual time) out of curiosity and it said 128lb and 5/8.
Which weight should I go with? I'm trying not to be disappointed by the gain as I say TOTM is due and I hope that is why.
Thanks.

  • Don't panic - your weight can fluctuate a lot in a single day. I'm sure the whole TOTM thing is effecting your water retention as well although I'm not positive. Go with the weight you have at your regular time, but I've had days where my weight will suddenly be up a good 5 pounds even though I'm under calories the day before, but then the next day I'm back down 6 or 7. It's pretty normal.

I always weigh an hour after rising, and obvs without eating or drinking....I think its to do with expelling the nights collection of pee and i think your body has to settle down. i always weigh less an hour later. weird.

For tracking don't weigh so regularly, limit to once a fortnight at most, if you insist on weighing daily then just use it as a rough guide, many factors can influence daily fluctuations.

I normally wake up at 8am-10am in the morning and dont eat until about 2pm. i weigh myself several times in the morning, usually after a workout, and I take the lowest weight i get for the day as my daily weight.

Don't know about the weight fluctuations, but 5/8 of a pound is 10oz - there are 16oz in one pound.

Exact same with me. I have weighed almost two pounds less an hour later sometimes. Stretching helps.

2 pound difference is normal. It happens to me everyday. I go for the lower one.
