How many calories should I be eating?

Hi, I would like some opinions from people that have extensive knowledge on weight loss or have lost large amounts of weight.

What is my recommended daily caloric intake to lose 2 pounds per week. I exercise 5 x per week for a min. of 1 hour per session and my goal is to burn no less than 600 calories each time.

My Info:

Female
Weight: 263.4 pounds
Height: 5 feet 3 inches
Age: 29

Based on your stats, I would probably suggest 2200 calories daily. You wouldn't know have to eat back your exercise calories as it's already in your TDEE. I would also adjust macro's to 35% c, 40% p and 25% f. High protein diets are more effective for weight loss and help preserve fat. IDK what you do for exercise, but if you aren't doing heavy weight training (where you fail at 6-10 reps) then you really should start. WT is much more effective at cutting fat. I would suggest 3 days of weight training. Each day, you would concentrate on 2-3 body parts (biceps, tricpes and back or chest and back, etc...). I know you probably don't want to hear this, but if you concentrate more on fat loss and improving athletic ability, weight loss will automatically come. The best thing you can do is working to maintain your current muscle mass as muscle is tight and lean.. Long term, this will give you a better body than just weight loss.
  • Just found out that I am expecting so am going to talk with a nutritionist to ensure that the baby gets the proper nutrients he needs.

    Congratulations!

Talking to a nutritionist is the thing to do at this point. Eating well to grow a healthy baby doesn't mean you have to gain a bunch of weight, but definitely talk to a professional.
