I sometimes have a pity party for myself, feeling like the world dealt me a crappy hand when I was injured in the army and gained all this weight because I spent a few years not being able to walk with out some form of support. and then I see things like this...

My excuse is invalid

Saw this on facebook a few days ago. LOVE it. I was so very moved. The power of people and love and what they can do simply astounds me.

I was in England during the paralympics, which were covered wall to wall there just like the Olympics. When you see a blind triple jumper, a javelin athlete with cerebral palsy, runners with no legs or no arms, you really can't have an excuse. We don't choose what happens to us. But we choose what we do about it.

And if anyone wants to cry a little bit more, my friend Anne who is a local radio host posted this story on her show page this morning. http://www.kvet.com/pages/mosser&hudson.html?article=10432229

You know, sometimes, when I'm complaining about some life tribulation, I just stop and say "SHUT THE F@#K UP MEREDITH." I've got an able body, a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food on the table, a good job, and a family that loves me. My life is NOT that hard. If Britney Spears can survive 2007, I can survive a bad day.

I read this one yesterday. And bawled my eyes out.

There are pictures of her carrying him on her back. That was powerful stuff.

I'm always at a loss for words when I see stories like this. All I can think is 1. God Bless him and ALL our troops, and 2. I really have zero problems in my life... zero.
