Think of all the diapers you'll have to change! lol0

Volunteer to babysit your friends' kids, should clear it right up.0

I do that... hasn't helped. I am SO not a kid person either. WHAT IS MY PROBLEM!?0
-
I'll cure you. I'm 33 with an almost 14 year old and a 10 year old. Babies grow up and they have HUGE attitudes. Want mine?0

I have a 1 1/2 week old. The lack to sleep and constant worry is pretty horrible, but the instant love you feel is amazing0

^YOU'RE MAKING IT WORSE!!!!!!!! LOLOLOL JK0 -
The #1 that no mom ever warned me about. You will NEVER be able to pee or poop in peace EVER again. Mine are 7 and 5. I think when they move out for college I may get to crap alone again.0

I wasnt a kid person either..but something hit me over the head while we were on vacation (in Taiwan of all places) and I suddenly wanted a kid.
2 1/2 years later and 4 miscarriages later...I had our son, then 15 months later had our daughter.
Would NOT change a thing.
:-)
And for the record, I still don't like other people's kids. Only mine. LOL.0 -
Maybe it's time you had one:). I have a six year old and would like another in the next few years.0

Babysit 8 month old twins, an 8 year old boy, & watch 16 & pregnant all at once. Best birth control ever.0

I had 3 and wouldnt change it for the world but the only way to prevent a fourth was one of us getting fixed, baby fever never goes away0

Gah  whyyyy mee!? Why is your baby so cute!?!?
I'm 19. It's not happening. But it's like BABIES in my brain CONSTANTLY. Ever since I turned 18 it's like all I freaking see are pregnant ladies and babies. It makes my heart melt.0 -
I believe it's up to like a bajillion dollars to raise a child until they are 18....add to that the fact that they generally live with you longer than that, and then move back home with their family in tow......
If that doesn't cure ya, nothing will!0 -

well, that'll do it. haha. Still doesn't keep me from thinking about it . Me and my husband discussed starting to try after I graduate, which is in 3 years. So I'll be 22-23. Still young, but we did everything young, I guess. I still have to go to graduate school though0 -
Are you in a position where having a child would be the most beneficial thing for you?
Get all your ducks in a row before hand.
Nothing annoys me more than people who reproduce because babies are so cute and they'll have something that will love them forever and ever and they can dress them up all cute, etc. Then again I can't think of any other reasons people have kids
This is a human life we're talking about.
Think of yourself. You're not a baby anymore. Think of what your life has been up until this point. Think of your struggles and hardships. Think of what makes you you. .....Now think back to when your parents said "I have baby fever!" Did they really take everything that makes you a person into consideration?
Kind of a big deal.0 -
Agreed - we are at a good point in our lives, except we don't have our careers yet, obviously. My husband will within the year. We're not financially sound, but people always say "you never will be". You always think you don't have enough money.
But honestly, the last thing I would have is a baby for unconditional love. Those things grow into middle schoolers and teenagers and they hate the living hell out of you... I'd buy a dog if I wanted that.0 -
take it easy, you're young you have plenty of years for that if you decide to go that way0

I got married at 19, had my first baby at 21. I went through nursing school with 2 young children. It was so hard! I see you're in college. I say, get through college and get into your career, first. I have three kids, now. My youngest is about to turn 9 months old, still doesn't sleep worth a crap! BUT, they are so worth it. Take your time, enjoy your relationship with your hubby, because kids change EVERYTHING! Live a little, first!0
-
For me, it's purely biological. I KNOW I don't want kids, but my body disagrees completely lol0
-
Do what I do: Go out to dinner with your SO and sit near a table with children. Works EVERY time, whether I actually want a baby or not. I just don't understand how parents can let their children scream and scream and run around like little monkeys. I was never allowed to get away with that!0

lets start with being pregnant... there is morning sickness, I have no idea why they call it morning, though. many people I know had it day and night.
There there is that very uncomfortable being in you that keeps growing and your kidney, bladder and liver will be a punching bag for 5 months.
then there is birth. it's like putting something the size of a melon through a hole the size of a lemon. That needs stitches.
then there is feeding about every 4 hours for about 6 weeks.. and diaper changing. it's almost 350 diapers in the first 6 weeks.
if you breast feed you will feel like a cow with sore nips, if you bottle feed that is a whole 'nother mess.
It will be about twenty years before you truly get a good night's worrieless sleep.
did I mention the whole melong/lemon thing?0 -
One word....colic.0

ME TOO. I'm 20, been with my guy for 2.5 years, we're getting married in April and SO READY to pop out his baby.

Cats?
Get a puppy. That'll cure it.
Kids were the one thing that I KNEW for certain I wanted.
WRONG! We got a puppy and between her and my husband, NOOOOOOOO!0 -
Changing diapers is nothing. When your kid is snacking on chips on the way home from daycare, starts gagging and choking and then proceeds to projectile vomit all over himself and the car seat?
Now THAT'S something!
He's okay by the way. The first words out of his mouth in concern for his now soiled t-shirt? "Elmo." (with a sad shaking of the head)0 -
if you have a fever and need a cure, I'd strongly suggest you consider more cowbell.
no seriously, don't have a kid.0 -

I have 3 kids and a dog.
I'm terrified, daily, of starving because my kids eat so much and food is Really expensive.
I haven't gone to the bathroom alone since my son (oldest) decided to roll over for the first time during a super quick pee-break when he was 2 months old. Even when they're with their dad, the dog is still in there with me.
Try being in business for yourself in a touchy area that you have to basically beat around the bush... then your kid blurts out what you do and ruins your cold market. Practice kissing your paycheck (and food-for-training) money good bye.
My GATE student, who has always been sensitive (crying) was suspended twice since the last week of Aug because of emotional outbursts. Even though I've never had a job outside the home and have always been here, I question EVERY SINGLE aspect of my parenting.
Start questioning every choice you make NOW before you have kids, so you can get used to it.0 -

Not too sure what to think about this one.
Furthermore putting off my want for kids.0
