Protein Powder??

Help! I have never purchased or used protein powder and think I need to try based on the fact that I cannot seem to get even close to my goal in this category. I eat peanut butter, eggs, all kinds of nuts Greek yogurt, etc., but I am just not a big meat eater. All of these protein powders on the market are so confusing to me and they all come in huge containers. Hate to spend $25 on a can of protein that tastes terrible. Any recommendation? I am probably just going to use it by tossing it in with my other smoothie ingredients. BTW, not a Milk drinker either, so I won't be mixing it with milk.

This is definitely very individual, different people can have different tastes. Might look into Syntrax Nectar powders though. They have a lot of fruit flavored options, my fav is called "fuzzy navel". Think it's supposed to be a peach kind of thing? But it mixes very well in water (just shake up in a closed container). Sort of tastes like a not strong orange juice kind of thing. Reviews of a lot of other syntrax flavors also claim things mix well with water, but I have to admit this is the only flavor of theirs I've tried. (That flavor and possibly others of that brand are also 0 fat / 0 carb, which is my problem in getting protein is not getting the increasing boost in carbs/fat).

You can usually buy individual packets of some protein powder (though the cost is still kind of high on a per-serving basis) if you just want to try things. I've heard a lot of good things about vega one, but didn't like their "berry flavor" (too sweet) and can't find anything their "natural" flavor mixes well with for me, but you might have better luck with it.
