Afternoon Slump

Asked this to my friends as well:
How do you guys address a mid-afternoon slump? From 2:00ish to 5:00ish, I am pretty sluggish and feel tired. Taking a break and walking around the block sometimes helps, but sometimes there just isn't enough sun to perk me up (the buildings block it). Any at desk exercises? Or general tips?

I have just about eliminated the afternoon slump by eating three meals and two or three snacks a day. I try to eat every 3 hours or so all day long. I eat pretty clean (I am not a fanatic, but that's basically what I do) and eat protein and complex carbs throughout the day.
A quick walk is a great idea. And stay hydrated.0 -
Thanks for the advice! What carbs do you guys recommend eating? I tend to eat lunch pretty late, I am think I should move that up (so I don't have a long break with no food in the middle of the day)- and plan for a mid-afternoon snack.0

I don't think it matters what carbs you eat as long as they are whole food complex carbs. Look at my diary if you like for some ideas.0

moving your lunch up should help or eating a small snack in between breakfast and lunch. Any carb will really do. you could also do a protein bar or protein shake... Just eat more often0 -
A little bag of 20g almonds and 20g sultanas really helps me. Tasty, protein and a little fruit sugar0
