While shopping yesterday, I was kinda in a zone, you know those days you just go down the list and throw in the stuff. Then when I reached the cereal isle I came to life, I couldn't believe how many different types of cereal ppl/kids have to choose from. When I was a kid it was like corn flakes, chex, and a few sugar ones. I know that it's the parents that are doing the buying, but could the amount of options be affecting what is going on in the obesity department. With the fast food on every corner and so on, there just wasn't the when I was growing up. Now that there is, I don't think that many of our bodies know how to deal with all this crap we feed it....

I agree. When I saw Oreo Cookie Cereal, I thought it had reached all time low.

the awful truth is that those big cereal companies are actually claiming that those high sugar high in HFCS are "healthy" for us and can be part of a healthy diet. They've been putting green check marks on them.. Cereals like Froot Loops.. lol Yea.. Froot Loops! I think those people have gone froot loopy myself...:noway:

BUT THEY CONTAIN WHOLE GRAINS SO THEY MUST BE HEALTHY!

    *crosses arms*

(Seriously, the cereal aisle might as well be renamed the candy aisle. Enough sugar in those boxes to make kiddies hyper for hours...)
  • I hear ya! My husband eats reece puffs cereal like its candy. He thinks as long as it has whole grains its fine. I am not much on cereal myself but next time I am at the store I might check out the cereal aisle just to see whats out there now.
