what's the right way to recover from a calorie deficit?

My max calories were 1200 when I started. However, most days I are way less than even that because I though that I would lose more weight faster...I've slowly learned that more calories is better and that I've probably slowed my BMI down allot. How do I fix it?

im currently doing the same thing as im recovering from an ED, and im going to be bluntly honest.
You're going to gain weight. But it's going to be water weight, and when your metabolism gets used to it you'll lose that weight and start losing faster and more then you are now.
Best way is to slowly raise your calories by 100-200 a week, and make sure it's all healthy food.
It's worth it, trust me.0
