fast food

So I understand life is hectic and all, but how do people eat fast food? My body always feels horrible afterwards. If you can eat fast food and still have a calorie deficiency all the more power to you, but I always find myself hungry immediately right after and I have already eaten a large portion of my days calories. For those of you who eat fast food on a regular basis why and how do you do it?

I do as I enjoy that type of food. It's way less now than I used to. I also try to make better choices and eat less as I enjoy it more than if I eat till I am full to bursting like I use to.
I fit it in my calories fine, I look at my average calories over the week rather than worry about each day, so I'm usually stricter during the week and enjoy a Saturday night take away.0 -
Shamefully, I eat fast food at least once a week. You're my friend, so you've probably noticed.:) It's not something that I'm proud of, and I'd like to stop eating it so often. But sometimes I'm out and haven't been home to cook, and fast food is appealing. Anyway, our favorite place to eat is Chick Fil A and I get grilled nuggets and salad instead of fries. When I was in college, I lost 60 lbs while working at McDonalds. I went from 225 to 160 in the span of 10 months, and I was eating McDonalds on days that I worked. What did I eat? I stopped eating anything breaded and deep fried. I ate the salads with grilled chicken and vinegairette (spelling?) dressing. If I felt like a burger, I'd get a regular hamburger and a side salad. My workout routine was sweeping/mopping the floors and running back and forth from the counter to get the food hundreds of times. LOL! I'm not advocating eating that way, b/c obviously a homecooked meal full of fruits and veggies and lean meats is the way to go. I'm just saying that it is possible to eat fast food and still lose weight.0

I wrote this thread because I noticed so many of my mfp friends eating fast food on a regular basis and still seeing results. I can see how it can be convenient.0

I love Subway...I figure hey if Jarrod can do it, so can I...it fills me up, gives me the fast food experience and is healthy! I have learned what you can eat at any fast food place...it is about asking them at the counter where their nutrition page is...then making a wise choice!0

Ball seasons are overlapping, so I eat a lot of concession stand food, which is on a par with 'fast food.'
No convenient options; no time to get anything else.
Just have to watch the calories during the day, so you can eat what's available at night.0 -
depends. i have chipotle and in n out pretty regularly and dont feel like dying after. i think its about making better choices. i get brown rice & blackbean burrito bowls instead of the full on tortilla, white rice, & pinto bean stuff or ill do a protein style burger instead of the buns (although idont give up my fries lol) i think its about moderation. i dont do full on binges like i used to if i do 'cheat' . there are certain things i cant eat without getting sick though and i think thats just because its too processed like jack in the box or something like that would probably knock me out for a day.0

I make it work, sometimes it's the quickest gluten sensitive food possible. I skip the bun, that helps.0

I've eaten @ Subway a couple times since joining MFP. They have some good choices (for me). I've gone to McDonald's a couple of times ... walked in and walked out. There's not much there I can eat. I did have a McFlurry one night. It was great until I looked up the calories (which I did AFTER eating, of course I wanted to be bad & it worked!
I try to avoid fast food places as much as possible. It's hard to do when you're going between jobs and haven't been home for 10 hours, running around etc. I get in trouble if I don't plan ahead!0 -
What are you eating that is so horrible on your stomach? Broccoli Beef and Mixed Veggies from Panda Express are on the lower end of calories. The key is knowing WHAT to eat and limiting how much. We had to order from a sandwich shop today for a work meal so I adjusted the rest of my food for the day to make sure I wasn't eating a huge calorie load for every meal.0

When I'm on the run I make sure I have protein bars and juice boxes or along those lines but if we must stop which does happen as I usually have an 18 month old granddaughter in tow, we share a happy meal or a grilled chicken salad or a parfait or something to tide us over. Fried fast food tears us both up so we don't do it more than once a week (except for this week - just one of those weeks). DRINK LOTS OF WATER TO FLUSH THAT JUNK OUT AFTERWARD THOUGH!0

I don't have fast food very often, to be honest, the last time I had a takeaway or fast food was maybe in July. I'm not 100% sure, but we tend to eat in.
When I have had fast food, it doesn't really do anything to my stomach. It's eaten, digested and then, well.... yeh... I just feel hungrier than I normally would because I'm not getting my usual macro's, it's instead filled with fat and carbs.0 -
